Description

Thanks to the EASY GLASS system, a built-in glass guardrail can be created in an aluminium profi le without the use of vertical uprights.

It consists of:- toughened glass sheets assembled

as laminated safety glass;- aluminium support profi les,

supplied by Q-railing;- possibly a handrail.

Two types of assembly are used, depending on the way the system is fi xed to the ground or fl oor.

• English-style sideways assembly

The system is fi xed horizontally into the ground or fl oor. The aluminium profi le is invisible from the movement zone.

• French-style in-ground or fl oor assembly

The system is fi xed vertically into the ground or fl oor. The aluminium profi le is invisible from the movement zone.

Applications

The guardrail is designed to prevent people from falling into the empty space. From a minimum height of 1 metre, it is mandatory that the rail is fi tted if the fall-height is equal to or greater than 1 metre.

Extremely shockproof, the EASY GLASS system is used both inside and outside living accommodation, buildings open to the public, public exhibition buildings and stadium stands.

Application examples: balconies, terraces, roofs, hanging gardens, mezzanines, staircases, etc.

Designed to be protect against extreme stresses, EASY GLASS guardrails meet all operating load requirements specifi ed in European standards for stadium stands and public spectacle buildings.

The EASY GLASS system complies with all the safety requirements stipulated by the Scientifi c and Technical Building Centre (Centre Scientifi que et Technique du Bâtiment - CSTB). It falls under Technical Datasheet No. 2/13-1550.The glass products used in this system are HEAT SOAK TEST (HST) treated to prevent spontaneous shattering.

EASY GLASS system guardrails are built into an aluminium profile, with no vertical uprights.

The result is that the solution provides optimum transparency and a feeling of endless space.

The glass panels, which can be clear, translucent and/or tinted, come in 13 shades of the STADIP COLOR range.

• Dimensions

EASY GLASS system glass panels are available in a wide choice of dimensions.

• Easy to assemble

Since the glass panels used in the EASY GLASS system are not pierced, less assembly time is needed at the work site.

• Adaptability

The EASY GLASS system comes in a number of confi gurations to meet all possible requirements according to the nature of the building and desired aesthetic result (aluminium profi le visible or invisible).

Five confi gurations are available, depending on the building type and the assembly layout selected.

• The glass

The EASY GLASS system glass products are SECURIPOINT toughened glass, assembled as laminated safety glass panels.

They have been subjected to a high performance mechanical strengthening procedure, fi nished off with HST treatment to eradicate any chance of spontaneous shattering.

The thickness of the glass panels is decided according to the confi guration desired.Their weight varies according to their composition.

• Q-railing aluminium support profi les

EASY GLASS system support profi les are of aluminium alloy with a 20 µm. anodised fi nish.

The choice of the profi le depends on the type of assembly desired (in-ground or fl oor or sideways).

• Accessories

A handrail or corner units may be incorporated into the EASY GLASS system.

Handrails An extensive range handrails are available, from traditional styles (groove base, in aluminium or wood) to the more specialised (offset mounted, mainly to comply with disabled person accessibility rules). There is no restriction of the type of glass which can be fi tted here.

Corner unitsThese are designed to form the link and create continuity between the various components of the system.

Installation

The EASY GLASS system is delivered with all necessary components: glass panels, aluminium support profi les and chocks.

The details of the implementation of the system are described in the joint GLASSOLUTIONS and Q-railing technical datasheet.Compliance is obligatory for assembly.

Regulations

The EASY GLASS guardrail system meets CSTB specifi cation test No. 3034 and is covered by Technical Datasheet No. 2/13-1550.

The EASY GLASS system glass panels are compliant with standards NF EN ISO 12543 the NF EN 14449. The HST treatment to which they are subjected complies with standard NF EN 14179.

They are classifi ed 1B1 according to standard NF EN 12600 and P2A according to standard NF EN 356.The aluminium support profi les comply with the requirements of standards EN573-3 and EN755-2 with a 20 µm. anodised fi nish.
