Questions?

Questions/Concerns? Question Answer
Do I need to re-train the technical staff? No, implementing XE does not require retraining Is it costly to implement XE: large amount of services, requiring a great deal of time?
No, in fact standing up an XE environment takes surprisingly little time and once it is in place deploying XE applications can occur one at a time, further simplifying adoption.
We have more important things that we are focusing on and investing in
XE capabilities may actually support your ability to meet your goals faster than expected. It is worthy of your consideration.
We have limited DBA resources, doesn’t XE require a great deal of DBA time?
XE does not require a great deal of DBA time, standing up the environment to support a single application can take as little as 2 days.
I think our users will be uncomfortable with the mixture of old and new in self-service and navigation between 8.x and 9 isn’t seamless, what can we do?
Application Navigator addresses this problem and makes the navigation seamless between the two applications.
We have a modified Banner environment, how do we handle the move to XE?
Many of your modifications may be decommissioned for delivered Banner capabilities and others can be implemented using the extensible framework with XE.
Will testing XE require significant resources? Because you do not need to move to all applications at once, you are able to deploy and adopt small chunks at a time and only test new functionality when you do this.
