JESUS IS ALIVE MUSICAL OVERVIEW

CHOIR: Worthy the Lamb by Gaither’s Band CD Soundtrack 4

(Organ Music begins: “Because He Lives” chorus only)

Narrator 1:

Alleluia! Jesus is alive! Because He lives we can face tomorrow with him.

One day, we will spend an eternity in His presence. We welcome you today

this Easter Sunday to celebrate the greatest sacrifice that He has ever done

for us. He came because He loved us. He knew it would not be an easy path

that would lead him to the cross and then a tomb. Yet He willingly choose

this road for you and me. "And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, Jesus

and two disciples, the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried,

saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the

name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest."

CHOIR: Worthy Is the Lamb by Darlene Zschech CD Soundtrack 5

(Organ Music begins: Break Thou the Bread of Life)

Narrator 2:

There were no hosannas as Jesus approached the time of his death. There

were no shouts of praises when he was taken in the garden or as he stood

before Pilate." And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it,

and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my

body. And he took the cup, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood

which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Let not your heart be

troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me."

CHOIR: How Beautiful by Twila Paris CD Soundtrack 3

(Organ Music begins: The Old Rugged Cross)

Narrator 3:

After the meal with His disciples, Jesus needed to be alone. He prayed in

the garden, not my will but Thine. Then the soldiers of the governor took

Jesus and they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. They placed a

crown of thorns upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they

bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the

Jews! They spit upon him, and smote him on the head, took his robe off

from him, and led him away to crucify him. Yet through it all, He prayed yet

again, "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do."

CHOIR: Lamb of God by Twila Paris CD Soundtrack 3

(Organ Music begins: It is Finished)

Narrator 4:

Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that

Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” 29 A jar of wine

vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk

of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. 30 When he had received the

drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up

his spirit. These things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled.

He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. He is risen!

Jesus is alive!

CHOIR: Guilty of Love by Beyond the Ashes CD Soundtrack 3

(Organ Music begins: I Will Praise Him – chorus only)

Narrator 5:

"Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? But thanks

be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

WORTHY THE LAMB

Verse 1 SOLO

Hear the cries of the shackled from the onset of time,

For the chains of defeat there's no key.

See the tears of the broken, the cries of the slaves:

Is there no one worthy to set us free?

Verse 2 SOLO Then the crying is stilled as the chorus rings out,

The shackled released from their chains.

And thousands of voices are swelling the song:

Worthy the Lamb that was slain.

ALL

Worthy, worthy, Worthy the Lamb that was slain

Worthy, worthy, Worthy the Lamb that was slain

Verse 3 SOLO

Then all the archangels, the saints of all time,

Holding their crowns in their hands,

Fall down before Him joining the song:

Worthy, worthy the Lamb!

ALL Worthy, worthy, Worthy the Lamb that was slain

Worthy, worthy, Worthy the Lamb that was slain

Praise Him, praise Him, Praise the Lamb that was slain Praise Him,

praise Him, Praise the Lamb that was slain Praise the Lamb that was

slain.

Worthy is the Lamb by Darlene Zschech

Thank you for the cross, Lord.

Thank you for the price you paid.

Bearing all my sin and shame, in love you came

And gave Amazing Grace.

Thank you for this love, Lord.

Thank you for the nail-pierced hands.

Wash me in Your cleansing flow, now all I know...

Your forgiveness and embrace.

Worthy is the Lamb

Seated on the throne.

We crown You now with many crowns

You reign victorious!

High and lifted up

Jesus, Son of God.

The darling of Heaven, crucified...

Worthy is the Lamb.

Worthy is the Lamb.

HOW BEAUTIFUL

How beautiful the hands that served

The wine and the bread and the sons of the earth

How beautiful the feet that walked

The long dusty roads and the hill to the cross

How beautiful, how beautiful

How beautiful is the body of Christ

How beautiful the heart that bled

That took all my sin and bore it instead

How beautiful the tender eyes, That chose to forgive and never despise

How beautiful, how beautiful, How beautiful is the body of Christ

And as He laid down His life, We offer this sacrifice

That we will live just as he died, Willing to pay the price

Willing to pay the price

How beautiful the radiant bride

Who waits for her groom with His light in her eyes

How beautiful when humble hearts give

The fruit of pure lives so that others may live

How beautiful, how beautiful, How beautiful is the body of Christ

How beautiful the feet that bring

The sound of good news and the love of the King

How beautiful the hands that serve

The wine and the bread and the sons of the earth,

How beautiful, how beautiful, How beautiful is the body of Christ

“Guilty of Love”

1st Verse: SOLO

Judas led the soldiers to the garden where He prayed

Jesus was arrested by the ones He came to save

Swords and clubs and angry words were coming from all sides

Jesus only saw the broken hearts of his accusers that night

Chorus:

He was guilty of compassion

For the lonely and the weak

Guilty of forgiving

And setting prisoners free

Guilty of believing

The highest price was not too much

But most of all

The sinless lamb of God

Was guilty of love

2nd Verse: SOLO

Pilate said of Jesus, “I find no fault in this man”

Still the crowd said, “Crucify!” and would not understand

Pilate washed his hands and then he set Barrabas free

Jesus was their only hope, but they were too hard-hearted to see

(Repeat Chorus)

Bridge:

Love that sees the best inside the worst of us

Love that did what no one would have done

He paid with his own blood

(Repeat Chorus)

The Holy, Spotless, Worthy Lamb of God

Was guilty of love

Guilty of love.
