Happy Easter!April 12, 2020
THE VINES H E L T O N V I N E Y A R D S B L O G
Some of you may be switching up things
this year like finally having breakfast in
bed, attempting to cook a home style
brunch, taking a refreshing sunrise walk
through the park, or some of you may be
saying, “Nope. None of the above. I am
definitely sleeping until lunch.” However
you decide to spend your Easter
weekend, we would love to help support
and encourage you through these
changes. Here’s how:
Sunrise Sunday,Sunset Sangria By Rachael Roseman
We know many of you are being
thrown off of your normal routine
with the rapid changes in our
society due to COVID-19. For many,
that means a big change in normal
Easter traditions such as church
services, Easter egg hunts, big family
gatherings for an Easter cookout,
picnic, potluck, or any other
traditions you may be accustomed
to.
Step 2.
Follow the recipes below.
Our Salem Fork Blackberry Wine Cake
recipe is sure to bring sweetness to any
gathering. Maybe you’re making it for
your quarantined family who’s this close
to making you pull your hair out,
(remember, you love them anyway).
Maybe it’s for your elderly neighbor who
needs a little reassurance during this
time. Maybe the whole cake is only for
you! Whoever it’s for, this yummy cake is
a great way to share a bit of kindness to
this special weekend during a trying
time.
It’s a simple recipe with easy instructions.
If you don’t have these items at home,
call your local grocery store or go online
to place a curbside pick-up order of the
ingredients you need, (remember…social-
distancing. Curbside pick-up is the way
to go!). Visit our website to place an order
of the Salem Fork Blackberry wine and it
will be shipped right to your door! Easy-
peasy so far, right?
Step 1. Rememberto continuesmiling, laughing, and perseveringduring this time.
Once you have the ingredients you need, follow
the directions below.
Ingredients:
• 18 ounces white cake mix (1 box)
• 3 ounces Black Cherry Jello (or Blackberry Jello)
• 4 eggs
• 1 cup vegetable oil
• 1 cup Salem Fork Blackberry Wine
• 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
• ¼ cup wine to thin glaze- does not take much
Directions: Spray Bundt pan with cooking spray.
Mix cake and Jello in bowl. Add eggs, oil and
wine to mixture. Beat at low, medium speed (as
directed on cake box mix). Bake at 350 degrees
for 50-60 minutes. Mix powdered sugar and
enough wine to thin to spreading consistency.
Drizzle over cake.
Finally, we want to share with you our recipe for a delicious, front-porch-sipping,
sunset-watching beverage to help wind down your evening. Our Sunset Sangria is a
perfect way to end your day out on the front porch or cozy in your living room.
Here’s what you’ll need:
• 2 bottles of Shelton Vineyards Salem Fork Sunset Sangria
• 1, 12 oz. can of Sprite
• Sliced fruits of your choice (oranges, tangerines, apples, cherries, etc.)
• Serve over ice
Mix all the ingredients and voile! You’ll have a sweet end to a wonderful day.
We hope these recipes are a huge success on your
Easter weekend! Until next time.
Cheers,
Shelton Vineyards Team
