HORNSBY Here’s what you will need: • Basket – Click & collect yours from Westfield Hornsby via Westfield Direct at direct.westfield.com.au/hornsby • Collect items from your backyard, here are some of our ideas of what you can find: gum nuts, flowers, grass, leaves, twigs. • Ask your parents for some strips of fabric from an old sheet or t-shirt. They will need to be cut 2cm wide and 1.5m long by an adult • Find some wool, string or ribbon Instructions: STEP ONE: Take your basket. Using your scissors and cut the second strip of cane weave. STEP SIX: Take a piece of coloured wool, string or ribbon. Start from the same hole as Step 3. STEP TWO: Gently pull out the strip of cane creating holes that you can weave through. STEP SEVEN: Weave over and under as before. Don’t forget to leave enough of an end to tie a knot. STEP THREE: Take a fabric strip, start threading from the outside. Make sure you leave about 10cm out so you can tie it off at the end. STEP EIGHT: Select a small bunch of your favourite leaves, flowers, grasses and take a little piece of string and tie them tightly together. STEP FIVE: Now tie it off in a simple knot. Don’t cut off the end yet! THE END: Now you are ready for the arrival of the Easter Bunny. Enjoy your egg hunt with your new basket. STEP FOUR: Weave over the top and through the hole all around the basket until you come back to the start. STEP NINE: Now push the stems through the basket hole, weave it in a little if you can. Take the long pieces of fabric strip where you tied a knot and tie the left over into a bow.
