The Eastenders opening credits create a strong brand identity because of the easily recognisable buildings- 02 arena and the Thames river, which we relate to Eastenders.The soap also gets its name from its setting in East London, which is also immediately recognised in the opening sequence

We can assume the characters in the soap are going to be working middle class and fairly dull, from the grey cloudy settings of the sequence. This grey feel is created by using a blue filterWe can also tell from the music that starts out with dramatic drums but then continues onto a dull boring piano tune that although the characters lives could seem dull they will be problematic with small scale crisis’ on.
