Reach New HeightsAs an aviation professional, you have completed intense, technological training. At Thomas Edison State University, you can earn credit for your training and FAA certifications that can be applied to your associate or bachelor’s degree.

Most aviation professionals select our Bachelor of Science in Applied Science and Technology degree, which offers the following aviation-related areas of study:

In addition to earning credit for professional and military training, FAA certification and transfer credits, you can earn credit via online courses, guided independent study courses, credit-by-exam programs and portfolio assessment, which are delivered where you live or work. These options enable you to earn the remaining credits required to complete your degree without the need to sacrifice your personal or professional responsibilities.

Earn credit for your aviation training and FAA certification

AVIATION MAINTENANCE TECHNOLOGY This program is limited to FAA licensed airframe and power plant mechanics. Equivalent military training may be considered. The degree is a 120-credit program, which leverages training in subjects such as General Aeronautics, Advanced Airframe Systems, Airframe Electrical Systems and Thermodynamics.

AVIATION FLIGHT TECHNOLOGYThis program is limited to professionally licensed commercial pilots who hold a minimum of Commercial and Instrument ratings (Airline Transport Pilot recommended). Equivalent military training may also be considered. The degree is a 120-credit program.

AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLThis program is limited to licensed air traffic control specialists, as credit is derived from FAA certification. The degree is a 120-credit program, which leverages training in subjects such as Aerodynamics, Aviation Weather, Navigation and Radar Fundamentals.

AVIATION MANAGEMENTThis degree is a 120-credit program designed for aviation professionals interested in advancing from a technical position to a management or leadership role. The program is limited to students who hold FAA certifications. Equivalent military training may also be considered.
