REPUBLICANS RULE THE LONE STAR STATE

exas is widely consid-ered the strongest Re-publican state in the

United States — there’s noquestion about that. Texanshave entrusted Republicanleaders with the stewardshipof every statewide electedoffice in the state and ma-jorities in the Texas statesenate, Texas state houseand on the Texas board ofeducation as well. Accordingto information published onthe Republican Party ofTexas website: Republicanscurrently have majorities in107 Texas counties that con-tain nearly two-thirds of thestate’s population.

HERE’S HOW THE PARTYPRIMARY ELECTIONPROCESS WORKS

Traditionally, political party primary elec-tions are held in March of even numberedyears. But the 2012 Democratic and Repub-lican primaries are being held on Tuesday,May 29th, 2012 this year.

On Tuesday, May 29th, 2012 you mustchoose to vote in either the Democratic orRepublican primary. In Texas, if you’re aregistered voter, may vote in either primary;however, you may only vote in one duringthis election cycle. Keep in mind that youcan’t vote straight tickets in your party pri-mary, so, it is important that you learn a littleabout the candidates before Election Day toensure that your party is putting forth thebest slate of candidates for the 2012 Presi-dential Election to be held on Tuesday, No-vember 6th, 2012.

If you choose to vote in one party’s pri-mary, you will not be able to vote in the otherparty’s run-off election during that same year. However, if you chose to not vote in either theDemocratic or Republican primary you mayvote in either primary runoff election this year.

President of the United States2012 Republican Primary

Ron Paul Newt Gingrich John Davis Rick Santorum Charles ‘Buddy’ Jon Huntsman Mitt Romney Michele Bachmann

A FEW THINGS YOUSHOULD KNOW ABOUTGOV. MITT ROMNEY

Mitt Romney is the front-runner in therace to claim the Republican nomination inthe race for President of the United States.Romney was born in Detroit on March 12,1947. His mother, Lenore, gave up an actingcareer when she met and married his father.Romney married his wife, Ann, in 1969. Theyfirst met in elementary school when he wasa Cub Scout; he remembers tossing pebblesat her when she rode by on a horse. Whenthey met again years later at a friend’shouse, he was smitten. Between them, theyhave five sons and sixteen grandchildren, who are the center of their lives.

Like any family, the Romneys have facedhardship: Ann was diagnosed with multiplesclerosis in 1998, and more recently fought abattle with breast cancer. She credits herhusband’s unwavering care and devotion toher for helping her through these ordeals.

Romney has spent most of his life in theprivate sector, giving him intimate knowledgeof how our economy works. But he has alsobeen an outstanding public servant. In onechapter of his distinguished career, he re-versed the decline of a state mired in reces-sion. In another chapter, he salvaged the 2002Winter Olympic Games from certain disaster.

When Romney was elected Governor ofMassachusetts in 2002, the state was in se-vere disarray, its budget was out of balance, spending was soaring, and taxpayers werebeing required to pay more and more in taxesfor diminishing services. The state economywas in a tailspin, with businesses cutting backon investment or even closing and unemploy-ment ticking up. Mitt made hard decisionsthat brought state spending under control. Herestructured and consolidated governmentprograms, paring back where necessary andfinding efficiencies throughout.

Facing a state legislature dominated byDemocrats, Romney cast more than 800 ve-toes as he brought conservative principles tostate government. He cut red tape for smallbusinesses, signed into law job-creating in-centives, and fought hard to bring new busi-nesses to the state. He eliminated a $3billion deficit without borrowing or raisingtaxes. By 2007, at the end of Romney’s term, the state had accumulated a $2 billion rainyday fund in its coffers. This stringent fiscaldiscipline provided an essential backdrop foreconomic recovery. When Romney came intooffice, the state was losing jobs every month. When he left office, the economy was gener-ating new jobs by the thousands according toinformation posted on his website.

his year Obama sadlywent on a worldwideapology tour on behalf of

this country. Since the Presi-dent and I are polar opposites Iembarked on my campaign forJustice of the Peace, Precinct 4,Place 1 as the official Conser-vative Thank You Tour. The rea-son I started this campaign is toput conservative values back onthe bench in my community; andat the same time lift the spiritsof a segment of our great coun-try that is always under attack…Conservatives.

The following letter is to all ofyou who fight every day to up-hold the values that make thiscountry great; and although youhave been beaten down with in-flammatory words like racist, sexist, greedy, etc., please knowthat it is your fight that helped meescape the chains of poverty andput me on a path to salvation.

Dear Conservative:You may not know me personally; but I am

one of the millions of people in this countrythat you helped escape poverty through yourprayer, sacrifice, and refusal to give into thegodless, victimization attitudes that are gaininga foothold in this country.

See, fellow Conservative, I was born in theinner-city to a father who decided that hewanted nothing to do with raising a child. Mymother Pearl immediately took control of thehousehold and worked her way out of poverty. She never made excuses or blamed the govern-ment, corporations, race, or her sex on our po-sition in life. In fact, she did the opposite, shetaught me the importance of prayer, self-ac-countability and hard work to conquer poverty. This was my introduction to the conservative

values that would shape the rest of my life. Even when I went to fight for my country

in Operation Desert Shield/Storm and Opera-tion Provide Comfort, you welcomed me homelike I was some kind of hero. I never told you,but I did not feel like a hero, I felt like I wasdoing something to pay my country back for allthat has been done for me. It has been over twodecades since I put on my battle green uniform;and yet, when I walk amongst you I alwayssmile as you thank me for serving; and feelproud to have served my country.

After the military I became a lawyer and Iam now a candidate for Judge; and you areright next to me fighting to return the bench tothe values that we share. You do not look atme different because of my background. Youtreat me no different than the man who grewup with more finances than my mom everdreamed of having. You give me strength byreminding me that in this country everyone hasthe opportunity to do great things; I need thisreminder as the media and some on the left tryto make victims of us so that we may cowerunder their protection.

Another thing that I love is your willingnessto hold career politicians to the values that theyclaim to have. One example of this was onMarch 28, 2012, when my opponent was ad-monished by the State Commission on Judi-cial Conduct for the following violations:

Judge J. Kent Adams: failed tocomply with the law and demon-strated a lack of professional com-petence

Judge J. Kent Adamswas sighted as: Demonstrat-ing a lack of patience, dignity andcourtesy expected of a judge

Judge J. KentAdams created a percep-tion of bias and prejudice

Judge J. KentAdams acted in a mannerthat does not promotepublic confidence in theintegrity and impartiality ofthe judiciary

The media went to great lengthsto focus on racial remarks madeby him; but you focused on theother complaints also that weremuch more troubling. Instead ofcircling the wagons, you showed as

a true Conservative that you refuse to standby a Judge who could not follow his oatheven if he carried the same party designation. We both understand that you recognize aConservative by actions and deeds, not by in-cumbency and endorsements.

I look forward to election day when I hopeto be elected Justice of the Peace and take an-other step towards contributing to the commu-nity that has given so much to me.

My fellow Republican I hope that you em-brace my journey as a Conservative because itis because of you that I am who I am today,so please accept this heartfelt thanksand never stop fighting!

A Few Words About MeMy story is only possible here in America. I was born in an inner city and raised by a dedicatedsingle mother to understand the meaning of love and strength through family. I was taught thevalue of hard work, of getting an education and the honor of serving my country. As a U.S.Army veteran, I understand the cost exacted on those who serve andtheir families. I know the pain and the uncertainty our veterans andtheir families endure. It is their love of country, their unending pursuitof freedom, and their selfless sacrifices that continue to inspire me. Iam honored to call them my brothers- and sisters-in-arms.

My story is not a rags to riches story, but it is a story thatproudly wears the label "Made in America." As a father, I am con-cerned about the future I am forging for my son and for his children after him. My passionconcerning energy in Texas comes from the principles that drove my mother. She wantedto leave something better for her children, a future that was brighter, a future filled withpromise and exciting possibilities. My goal is to work hard to ensure that my son and hischildren, as well as YOUR children, are left with something better in a world that is drivenand defined by the principle of paying it forward. We can do this together. We can deliveron the promises made to us by our parents by committing to an even higher standard in

creating a better future for the coming generations.

I’m Ready To ServeAfter several years as a technology professional, I was elected to the Comal County Commis-sioners Court on November 2, 2004 and again in November 2008. I was the first African Amer-ican and the youngest person to win election as a county commissioner in Comal County.I have tirelessly worked to protect our tax dollars by exposing financial mismanagement inlocal agencies. I have a proven record of working alongside my colleagues to keep ComalCounty's tax policy fair, and I am proud that our rate is one of the lowest in the state. I haveworked to offer new educational benefits for county employees and to preserve land for futuregenerations and to protect private property rights. I have spoken out frequently on a variety ofnational issues including: eminent domain, DC Opportunity Scholarship Program, transporta-tion, and cap-n-trade, to name a few.In 2008 Governor Rick Perry appointed me to the State Commission on Emergency Commu-nications. In this position I travel across the state, speaking and leading the states initiative forNext Generation 911. Since taking office, I have fought tirelessly to protect children from abuseand violence, not only in my county, but in others as well. I was proud to initiate the annual

"Guardian Angel Award" which honors volunteers, non-profit agency partners, as well as law enforcement and child protectiveservices workers who assist in preventing child abuse and neglect and who work to strengthen families.

I’m The Best CandidateI supported our county's clean fleet strategy and electricity reduction pilot plans. As a result of our commissioners court ef-

forts, electricity usage is down by 11% in some of our buildings. I have worked diligently to assure that we remain competitivewhen it comes to energy, but at the same time I recognize the importance of conservation. Our efforts in conservation were re-warded when the "State Energy Conservation Office" recognized Comal County in 2005, 2006 and then again in 2009. Energy isa passion of mine, and I have authored many articles on a variety of energy subjects, some of which are featured on this website. In 2010 I authored the book "Global Warming…Really?" which was picked as the "book of the week" by the Conservative Monitor.I am a member of the International Association for Energy Economics, the United States Association for Energy Economics, theAmerican Society for Public Administration, Section on Environmental and Natural Resource Administration and the Texas Oil &Gas Association. I am also an adjunct professor of government at Concordia University.

I’m Asking For Your VoteI hold a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Columbia Southern University, a Masters of Public Administra-

Big Lead With WomenGives Obama An Edge On Romney, Quinnipiac University National Poll Finds;Christie, Rubio, Ryan Top GOP Running Mate List

President Barack Obama holds a thin46 - 42 percent lead over former Massachu-setts Gov. Mitt Romney, according to aQuinnipiac University national poll releasedresently. New Jersey Gov. ChristopherChristie, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Wis-consin U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan lead the guesslist for possible Romney running mates.

Looking at personal characteristics, 81percent of American voters think the presidentis likable, compared to 63 percent for Rom-ney. Obama cares about their needs andproblems, 57 percent say, compared to 44percent for Romney. The Republican hasstrong leadership qualities, 61 percent say, compared to 60 percent for the president, theindependent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack)University poll of 2,577 American voters finds.

Romney is seen as better on the econ-omy 47 - 43 percent, better on creating jobs45 - 42 percent, better on gas prices 44 - 31percent and better on immigration 43 - 39percent. The president is viewed 52 - 32 per-cent as better on women’s issues and 46 -40 percent on foreign policy. The two menare seen equally on taxes and health care.

“The presidential race remains tight. With Gov. Mitt Romney now the de facto Re-publican nominee, a look at how the twomen are perceived by the electorate reflectsmuch of the historic differences between thetwo parties in close elections, which thisseems likely to be,” said Peter A. Brown, as-sistant director of the Quinnipiac UniversityPolling Institute.

“President Barack Obama has a big leadamong women and is seen as the candidatemost in tune with their needs. He is seen asmore in touch with average Americans. Re-publican Romney seems to hold an edge onthe economy - the top issue of the campaign

- and holds his own against the incumbenton being a strong leader. His opening is thatby 56 - 38 percent voters disapprove of thepresident’s handling of the economy.”

“The gender gap remains, with Obamaleading among women 49 - 39 percent andtrailing slightly among men 46 - 43 percent,”said Brown. “The racial gap is even wider:Romney leads 52 - 36 percent amongwhites, while the president is ahead amongblacks 94 - 3 percent and among Hispanics64 - 24 percent.”

Obama leads among Democrats 88 - 6percent, while Romney leads 83 - 8 percentamong Republicans and 46 - 39 percentamong independent voters.

More voters have an unfavorable opin-ion of the president, 49 percent, compared tothe 45 percent who view him favorably. Rom-ney is viewed favorably by 33 percent andunfavorably by 38 percent.

First Lady Michelle Obama gets a 60 -22 percent favorability rating. Ann Romneygets a 25 - 9 percent favorability with 64 per-cent who don’t know enough about her toform an opinion.

Obama gets split 47 - 48 percent overalljob approval and American voters say 49 -46 percent that he does not deserve a sec-ond term in the Oval Office.

Asked about potential Romney runningmates, Christie, by far the best known of thepotential picks, runs best with 31 percentcalling him a good choice compared to 18percent saying he would be a bad choiceand 49 percent with no opinion yet. Inde-pendent voters, the key voting bloc, seeChristie as a good choice 33 - 18 percent.

Rubio was labeled a good choice 24 -14 percent overall and 27 - 14 percentamong independents, while Ryan has similarnumbers, 23 - 17 percent good choice over-all and 25 - 17 percent among independents.

For other possible running mates, the“no opinion” count is 64 percent or higher.

“Even Gov. Christopher Christie evokesa ‘no opinion’ from half the electorate, withRyan and Rubio even more so. Other poten-tial running mates who did not rate as highlyas the three leaders are quite unknown. Atthis point Christie, who recently said hewould not rule out running with Romney, hasan edge with the public, but the vice presi-dency goes to the winner of an election with

one voter - Mitt Romney,” said Brown. From April 11 - 17, Quinnipiac University

surveyed 2,577 registered voters with a mar-gin of error of +/- 1.9 percentage points. Liveinterviewers call land lines and cell phones.

“I need you to helpme restore integrityto the Precinct 1Constable’s office.”

y name is Jaime Tellez, and I am running for Harris County Con-stable Precinct 1. Unfortunately, recent events have brought shame

to the Precinct 1 Constable’s office. When elected, I will reestablish in-tegrity to the office and restore employee morale. Mismanagement, wastefulness and wrongdoings no longer will be tolerated. We will moveforward to make Precinct 1 a better and safer place to live and to work.

I will use my professional experience, education and leadershipqualities to ensure an in depth full departmental evaluation. I willrestructure the department using current and new deputies and ad-ministrators. We will seek input from Precinct 1 citizens, busi-nesses, schools and religious organizations to excel inprofessionalism and service. Together, with a little hard work, wewill provide Precinct 1 top quality police service regardless ofrace, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, handicap, familial sta-tus or national origin.

I will expand current divisions, as well as create new ones thatfocus on victims’ rights and family violence, proactive real-time pa-trol and DWI enforcement, environmental issues and animal cruelty.

I realize keeping within the budget is a great concern. Therefore,we will use all available resources, including existing full-time andreserve deputies, other agencies, state and federal grants and technol-ogy. I will educate and train deputies and supervisors in diverse areasof law enforcement to reduce waste, improve service, and utilize ef-fective and efficient deployment of those resources.

Because I live and work in Precinct 1, I also want safer neighbor-hoods, schools and parks. As a business owner, I want my employeesand clients to feel safe. I want help to be there when we need it. Iwant professional and knowledgeable officers. Finally, like you, Iwant improved quality of life and safer communities. Let’s move for-ward together to accomplish these goals.

In the next couple of months, you will hear the word integrityused quite often. It is a term not to be applied loosely and is acore characteristic that should apply to all candidates, as well asthe elected constable. I ask that you do your research and thenvote for the candidate with qualities you seek and admire andwho will run this office effectively and efficiently. I look forwardto serving you as your next Constable of Precinct 1.

Thank you for taking the time to read my Web site.

Sincerely,

National Poll Finds; VotersApprove Of Detroit Bailout

The surge of economic optimism mayhave stalled as American voters say 41 - 35 per-cent they are worse off financially than four yearsago, and 51 percent don't expect their personal fi-nancial situation to change in the next 12 months, while 32 percent expect it to get better and 13percent expect it to get worse, according to aQuinnipiac University poll released recently.

Voters say 68 - 27 percent the economy is ina recession, but say 53 - 43 percent it has begunto recover, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University poll finds.

The U.S. Supreme Court should overturn the2010 health care law, voters say 49 - 38 percent. And voters say 62 - 27 percent the SupremeCourt should uphold Arizona's immigration law.

By 53 - 41 percent voters approve of thegovernment bailout of the auto industry and be-lieve the bailout has been a success 50 - 38 per-cent. Democrats approve of the bailout 78 - 17percent while Republicans disapprove 59 - 34percent. Independent voters split 49 - 46 percent.

"A small majority of American voters thinkthe economy is improving, but the groundswell ofoptimism we saw in recent months seems to have

hit a wall," said Peter A. Brown, assistant direc-tor of the Quinnipiac University Polling Insti-tute. "Last October, voters said 77 - 20 percentthe country was in recession. By Februarypublic opinion was rosier with voters saying66 - 30 percent the country was in recession, asolid positive move.

"But now, voters say 68 - 27 percent, we arein a recession. The momentum has slowed if notreversed. Similarly, in September voters said 68 -28 percent the economy was NOT beginning torecover which turned to 54 - 43 percent in Febru-ary that it WAS beginning to recover. But nowthat number has stalled with voters saying 53 -43 the economy has begun to recover."

Democrats, who tend to have lower incomesthan Republicans, say 51 - 23 percent they arebetter off than four years ago. They are worseoff, Republicans say 55 - 24 percent and inde-pendent voters say 46 - 32 percent.

African-Americans, who as a group havelower incomes than whites, say 55 - 21 percentthey are better off. Hispanics also say they arebetter off 40 - 35 percent, while whites say worseoff 46 - 31 percent.

"It is symbolic of the yawning political di-vide in this country that even when asked abouttheir financial situation many voters seem to seethe answer through a political prism involvingtheir views about Barack Obama's presidency,"said Brown. "It is a reasonable presumption thatfolks for the president see a need to say they havedone better to show support for the president - nomatter what they have in their wallet. Those whoare anti-Obama feel a need to say he has hurtthem financially - even if they're on the upperside of the income scale."

Asked about the next 12 months, Democratssay 40 - 7 percent, Republicans 23 - 17 percentand independents 32 - 14 percent that things willget better for them in the next year. Optimistic areblack voters 59 - 6 percent, whites 27 - 14 per-cent and Hispanics 41 - 8 percent.

American voters give the Supreme Court a52 - 31 percent job approval rating, higher thanapproval ratings for President Obama or for De-mocrats or Republicans in Congress.

Democrats want the high court to uphold thehealth care law 70 - 16 percent. The court shouldoverturn it, Republicans say 80 - 9 percent andindependent voters say 55 - 33 percent.

On immigration, there is a smaller partisandivide and Hispanic voters are divided as 45 per-cent want the court to uphold the Arizona lawwhile 43 percent want the law overturned.

From April 11 - 17, Quinnipiac Universitysurveyed 2,577 registered voters with a margin oferror of +/- 1.9 percentage points. Susan G. Komenfor the Cure has an-nounced that it plans tofund at least seventeenPlanned Parenthood af-filiates in 2012, roughlythe same number that re-ceived grants fromKomen last year, theWashington Post reports.

The announcement comes at a time whenthe two women's health organizations areworking to repair their relationship, whichwas badly damaged after Komen said itwould defund Planned Parenthood affiliatesamid an inquiry launched by Rep. CliffStearns (R-FL) to determine whether the re-productive health care provider was usingpublic funds to pay for abortion services. Al-though Komen quickly reversed its decisionfollowing a torrent of criticism from womenand Planned Parenthood supporters, the back-lash resulted in fundraising losses and a num-ber of high-profile resignations at Komenaffiliates around the country.

The total amount to be awarded by Komenhas not been announced, but Planned Parent-hood has said that nineteen of its seventy-nineaffiliates received a total of about $680,000from the breast cancer charity in 2011. Becausenot all Komen affiliates begin their fiscal year

on April 1, additional grants may be announcedover the next few months.

"We know that people have been upsetand concerned about recent events," Komenspokeswoman Leslie Aun told the Post."We've acknowledged our missteps and apolo-gized. People need to know that we have notand never will walk away from women inneed. There is no one filling the gap in serv-ices the way that Komen is."

ANNOUNCEMENTRepublicans Launching Effortto Loosen Democratic Grip OnAfrican American Voters

According to a recently released poll byQuinnipiac University President Barack Obamahas a stunning 94-3 lead over Mitt Romneyamong blacks. However, the Republican NationalCommittee is launching a "black Americans" out-reach program as part of their "strategic partner-ships" initiative aimed at courting groups thathave traditionally leaned Democratic accordingto a recent CNN report by Peter Hamby.

The RNC has already launched similar effortsaimed at women and Hispanics. You can find outmore about those efforts by visiting GOP.COM.

This new website is slated to feature testi-monials from some of the party's most prominentblack elected officials, including Florida Rep.Allen West, South Carolina Rep. Tim Scott andFlorida Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll.

"We highlight our elected officials so peopleunderstand that we do have Republicans that areelected that are black," said RNC co-chair SharonDay, the committee's coalitions director. "I don'tcare if they are a mosquito sprayer or a dogcatcher in Arizona, or Jennifer Carroll or AllenWest. We have black conservative leaders whostand for their principles."

She said the concerns of African Americanvoters are chiefly economic.

"We need to explain our values to them,"Day told CNN. "To be honest with you, their val-ues and our values are more similar than dissimi-lar. They are not Democratic values, they areRepublican values."

"Whether it's African Americans orCaribbean blacks or Asian Americans, the issuesare the same," she said. "They want a job, astrong economy, a good education for their chil-dren. Those are the things that matter. As Repub-licans we can bring those things to the table."

According to Day, this special website willbe earmarked for African American outreach andrecuiting black candidates.

"It would be great if Texas would follow theRNC's lead," says Aubrey R. Taylor, founder ofAubrey R. Taylor Communications. "AfricanAmericans in Texas need to also be made awareof the rich history of the Republican Party ofTexas. Most folks in Texas don't even know that

THE TEXAS REPUBLICAN PARTY

Today’s Texas Republican Party wasfounded in 1854 by a group of Mid-Western abo-litionists opposed to the Kansas-Nebraska Bill, which allowed a choice of slavery in the new ter-ritories of Kansas and Nebraska. Texas, whichhad become a state in 1845, was right in the mid-dle of the heated slavery controversy. Most stateleaders were Democrats prior to the Civil War,and thus supported the pro-slavery Confederacy. But President Abraham Lincoln, the first Repub-lican president, gained the support of Texas Re-publicans and several prominent state leaders, like Sam Houston, Texas’ first Governor. How-ever, most of those who decided to support Lin-coln’s decision to defend the Union were forcedfrom office, and Democrats succeeded in allyingTexas with the Confederacy.

The effects of the Civil War and its after-math would be felt for more than a centurythroughout the South, and especially in Texas. For its first two generations, Texas had knownonly honor, victory and valor. Though Texansnever lost a battle at home during the Civil War,the Union army under orders from a RepublicanPresident marched in and occupied the Lone StarState after the Confederacy surrendered. For thefirst time, Texas would not be victorious. Thenext four generations of Texans would not for-give the Republican Party.

INFORMATIONAfrican American were the MajorSupporters of the RepublicanParty of Texas in the beginning

African Americans were one group ofTexans that would consistently support the Re-publican Party in Texas in those early years. Infact, throughout Reconstruction, African Ameri-cans comprised about 90% of GOP membership, and 44 African Americans served in the Texaslegislature as Republicans.

It was through the hard work of a number ofdedicated African American men and women thatthe earliest foundations of the Republican Partyof Texas were laid. The first ever state Republi-can convention that met in Houston on July 4,1867 was predominantly African American incomposition, with about 150 African AmericanTexans attending, and 20 Anglos.

The second State GOP Chairman, NorrisWright Cuney, an African-American from Galve-ston who led the Republican Party from 1883 to1897, is said by State historians to have held “themost important political position given to a blackman of the South in the nineteenth century.”

Sergeant Hubbard Calls For Precinct 7 Voters to Fire Constable May WalkerFROM THE SERGEANT LEON HUBBARD FOR PRECINCT 7 CONSTABLE CAMPAIGN

“They could have indicted her…” is what defense attorney Chip Lewistold the Houston Chronicle regardinghis client (Constable May Walker) onFriday, February 10, 2012 shortly aftera Harris County grand jury let heroff the hook. Lewis went on tosay: “But just because thereis a technical violation of thelaw does not mean a grandjury sees fit to indict.”

BREAKING THE LAW ISBREAKING THE LAW

“When is a ‘technical violation’ of the law not a crime? Isn’ta ‘technical violation’ of the law still a violation of the law? I be-lieve a so called ‘technical violation’ of the law; is still a viola-tion of the law,” says Sergeant Leon Hubbard — the onlycandidate running for Harris County Precinct 7 constable withmore than 30 years of law enforcement experience matchedwith an unblemished and honorable track-record of more than27 years already committed to the citizens of the HarrisCounty Precinct 7 community.

SERGEANT HUBBARD CANCLEAN UP THE MESS MADE BYCONSTABLE MAY WALKER

On Friday, February 10, 2012 a Harris County Grand jurydeclined to indict Constable May Walker on criminal chargesbeing alleged against the embattled Precinct 7 constable. Butdoes that mean she was innocent of the charges and accu-sations alleged against her? “That’s a good question,”says Hubbard. “A person could be guilty as sin, and not

have criminal charges brought against them forvarious reasons,” Hubbard explains. “Thatdoesn’t mean they’re innocent – it simplymeans they may have been let off the hookfor whatever reason,” says Hubbard.

“In the story recently published in theHouston Chronicle, Constable May Walkerwas described as ‘being thankful, relieved andcontrite’ by her defense attorney Chip Lewis;and she should be,” says Hubbard.

In the aforementioned article (written byBrian Rogers in the Houston Chronicle), at-

torney Chip Lewis also stated that therewere no allegations or inferences that ConstableMay Walker personally benefited from her of-fice, but rather, that it was ‘administrative mis-steps’ that landed her in trouble with the law.Lewis also claimed, Constable May Walkerhas made the necessary changes, includingending the raffle; and is trying to get permissionto conduct legal drawings according to the article.

THE HARM TO PRECINCT 7HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE BYCONSTABLE MAY WALKER

“But the harm of Constable May Walker’s shameful ‘ad-ministrative missteps’ has already been done to Precinct 7.This is too little — and it’s definitely too late. This constablehas brought more shame to the Precinct 7 constable’s office;and the time for change has come,” says Hubbard.

“Her own attorney said they could have indicted her —what more is there to say? I would just like to know how Con-stable May Walker managed to escape indictment; and whatthe grand jury considered. But we will perhaps never get theanswers to these questions,” he says.

“Grand juries have a difficult job to do; and I understandthat. But the bad thing about this whole matter is: since therewere no charges filed against Constable May Walker; and thefact the grand jury proceedings were done in secrecy; wedon’t even know what the investigation into Constable MayWalker involved,” explains Hubbard.

SERGEANT L;EON HUBBARD IS THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR CONSTABLE IN THE UPCOMINGDEMOCRATIC PRIMARY

Sergeant Leon Hubbard plans to restore honesty, integrity, and experience so OUR community will have trust in thePrecinct 7 constables office again.

Sergeant Leon Hubbard will increase the visibility of patrols tohelp reduce criminal activity in OUR Precinct 7 neighborhoods.

Sergeant Leon Hubbard will create a “HOTSPOT UNIT”to aggressively fight high-crime areas where there are a sub-stantial amount of citizen complaints about criminal activity inOUR Precinct 7 neighborhoods.

Sergeant Leon Hubbard will create a “SPECIAL EVENTSDIVISION” to provide security for special community relatedevents taking place in OUR Precinct 7.

Sergeant Leon Hubbard plans to abolish the practice ofcharging Precinct 7 citizens for coming into OUR constable’soffice to have their finger prints taken for their own privateuse. WE currently have to pay for having this done underMay Walker’s administration.

PRECINCT 7 NEEDS A CHANGEIN LEADERSHIP RIGHT NOW

“During my process of walking and knocking ondoors throughout Precinct 7 I’m running into people(all across the precinct) who want real answers andchange; people who are ashamed about what’s con-tinuing to happen time and time again in the Precinct7 constable’s office. Constable May Walker hasshamed our community with her ‘administrative mis-steps’ and so called ‘technical violation’ of the law.Being let off the hook by the grand jury shouldn’t ex-cuse the fact that she should still be fired at the ballotbox in the 2012 Democratic primary,” says Hubbard.

DONT LET CONSTABLE MAYWALKER OFF THE HOOK

“We can do much better than this in Precinct 7. We mustrestore honesty and integrity back to the Precinct 7 consta-ble’s office; and I’m the right person for the job. I’ve dedicatedover 30 years of my life to law enforcement in one capacity oranother — and I’m ready to serve Precinct 7 from day one.”

“I’m a team player whose been asked to do somethingabout the problems in the office currently being run by thisembattled constable.”

“I served the Precinct 7 Constable’s office honorably beforeI retired in 2010; and I’m stepping up to the plate to continue

my service to this community.”“My experience as a deputy

and supervisor has prepared me forthe job that needs to be done to clean upthe mess made by Constable May Walker,”proclaims Hubbard.

“There was a very informative new telecast airedrecently on KTRK Channel 13 which stated that Con-stable May Walker is likely breathing a sigh of relief, but that many of her deputies are expressing shock, and fearing that she may retaliate against them. That’sjust not right! That’s no environment to go to work in;and we must do something about this at the ballot boxin the 2012 Democratic primary,” says Hubbard.

PRECINCT 7 VOTERS MUSTFIRE CONSTABLE WALKER

“Firing the embattled Constable May Walker; and in-creasing morale at the Harris County Precinct 7 constable’soffice is one of my top priorities; but it’s not the only one,” ex-plains Sergeant Hubbard.

WE MUST USE WISDOM WITH OUR WORDS

“A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievouswords stir up anger.” — PROVERBS 15:1 - “Thereare some people we just have to deal with in life

— there’s just no way around that. People are brought intoour lives for specific reasons during specific seasons. Itcould be someone close to you who’s getting on your lastnerve; a bill collector; a boss who’s not treating you fairly;or someone you love dearly — I don’t know. But just re-member that we can’t change or control the actions of oth-ers and how they respond to us; but we can change howwe choose to respond to them. Sometimes our approachhas to be altered a bit to keep peace flowing; and to getwhat we want out of a given situation. The right word spo-ken in the right tone can be a deal maker; just like thewrong word can be a deal breaker.” -- AUBREY

BE CAREFUL WHO YOU ALLOW TOCOME ALONG FOR THE RIDE

“Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor isseparated from his neighbour.” — PROVERBS:19:4 - “Not everybody in our lives are meant to

come along for the full-ride. As you grow in popularityand wealth, just be really careful who you allow toenter into your inner-circle. Be wise and use Godly dis-cernment in your personal and professional dealings. And by all means, don’t allow just anyone to hitch theirboxcar to your train.” -- AUBREY

NOBODY CAN DO YOU BETTER THAN YOU!

“A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringethhim before great men.” — PROVERBS 18:16 -“Right now the stage is being set for you. There

are no over-night successes. Luck has nothing to do withit either! People (like us) spend lifetimes being preparedand sacrificing before we’re ever even aware that theyexist. God has created you in a unique mold that He threwaway once you were created. You are uniquely formed, prepared and anointed with gifting and talents that nobodyelse on earth has been given. Nobody can beat you atbeing you; just remember that today.” -- AUBREY

TALKING ALONE WON’T BRING OUR DREAMS TO PASS!

“In all labour there is profit; but the talk of the lipstendeth only to penury.” — PROVERBS 14:23 -“The American College Dictionary defines penury

as: 1. Extreme Poverty; Destitution. 2. Dearth or insuffi-ciency. Sure, we must speak and talk about what we’regoing to do in life: that’s an important part of the process. But at some point actions must follow our words; or we’regoing to find ourselves in a state of extreme poverty anddestitution. We must speak it; but we must also be an ac-tive participant in the process of bringing what we’respeaking into existence to pass.” -- AUBREY

GOD’S THOUGHTS ARE HIGHER THAN OUR THOUGHTS

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neitherare your ways my ways, saith the LORD.” — ISA-IAH: 55:8 - “Don’t sweat the small stuff. Even if

you can’t see the way, you must keep going. God alreadyknows what He’s going to do about what concerns youtoday. So don’t sweat the stuff that you have no controlover anyway.” -- AUBREY

WE CAN MOVE MOUNTAINS WITH OUR WORDS!

“If ye have faith as a grain of a mustardseed...nothing shall be impossible unto you!” —MATTHEW 17:20 - “Always believe! Keep believ-

ing! Never stop believing! How long? Keep on believingfor as long as it takes for you to lay hold of that which hasbeen promised to you. The enemy can smell unbelief froma mile away. And unbelief opens the door for fear to creepinto our lives. Jesus said, “Because of your unbelief: forverily I say unto you, if ye have faith as a grain of mustardseed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to

yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall beimpossible unto you.” I found that in the 17th Chapter and20th verse of the book of Matthew.” -- AUBREY

GOD KNOWS THE WAY!

“I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee howto profit, which leadeth the by the way that thoushouldest go.” — ISAIAH 48:17 - “God knows ex-

actly what we need and how He’s going to get it to us;and how to lead us to it too. Keep trusting, praying believ-ing, and praising God for getting you the provisionneeded to accomplish the vision you’ve been given. For,whenever God has given us a vision, He’s obligated toprovide us with the provision we need to accomplish thevision we’ve been given.” -- AUBREY

PRAISE GOD IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR VICTORY!

“Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him ac-cording to his excellent greatness” — PSALMS150:2 - “You are already a winner! You’ve already

won! If the enemy was going to be able to stop you, hewould have done it already. The fact that you’re readingthis thought today is proof positive that God isn’t throughwith you yet. Keep praising him for the good He’s done, doing and about to do in your life.” -- AUBREY

OUR FATHER IS WORTHY TO BE PRAISED!

“Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord.Praise ye the LORD.” — ISAIAH 150:6 - “Thefunny thing about God is that He sometimes will

choose the unlikeliest of individuals to accomplish ex-traordinary things in the world. He can use anyone hechooses; so why not you? You’re chosen, anointed, ap-pointed and well-able to accomplish every God-given andinspired goal that’s been planted in your spirit. PraiseGod for his goodness, faithfulness and perfect love today. And keep it moving!” -- AUBREY

YOUR DREAM WILL COME TO PASS!

“Commit thy way unto the LORD, trust also in him;and he shall bring it to pass.” —PSALMS 37:5 -“We can’t do it on our own. God can do more in

one day than you or I could do in a lifetime of trying onour own. Our biggest challenge is to make sure that ourdreams and desires are in line with His will for our lives.Once we do that, we must remain in Him and stay on thepath that has been chosen for us. God is carefully watch-ing over His plan for our lives and is surely going tocause it to be realized.” -- AUBREY

DON’T FORGET WHO HELPED YOU!

“ ...Remember the LORD thy God: for it is He thatgiveth thee power to get wealth.” — DEUTERON-OMY 8:18 - “God has a predetermined path for

you and I to travel to get to the promise that He’s alreadyprepared for us. It really doesn’t matter if we’re talkingabout our personal, professional or political lives; God isour helper in every area of our lives. So we can’t leaveour Father out of any part of the decision makingprocess. I’ve made this mistake many times in my life;and it’s a costly mistake to make. So never forget who’sworking on your behalf.” -- AUBREY

GOD GIVES US WEALTH FOR A PURPOSE

“...That he may establish His covenant which Hesware unto thy Fathers...this day.” —DEUTERONOMY 8:18 - “There’s a purpose and

reason for everything that our Father allows to happen inour lives. And He’s going to allow wealth to come into ourlives so His will can be accomplished in our lives and theworld around us. But it’s not going to be so we can harborand amass an abundance of wealth. God wants us to bea distribution center and a gateway to cause people tosee His goodness in our world; that they may praise Himfor His goodness in the land.” -- AUBREY
