We had a great Fall sports season last school year, with a new head varsity football coach in Gerry Beauchamp, a veteran boys
varsity soccer coach in Eric Rothwell, and ever-growing numbers in our girls soccer program, girls volleyball program,
golf, and tennis programs. Our Fall sports teams will be heading into the 2018-2019 school year in full stride.
Football Our Varsity Football team had the
opportunity to compete in the Cincinnati Crosstown Showdown
for the second year in a row. Allowing many of our players to showcase their abilities in front
of thousands of people across the tristate area. 2018 Graduate
Marcus Borden, now playing at the collegiate level with Tiffin
University, was honored with the Showcase MVP. Current Senior
Jowon Briggs was able to put on display his rare abilities while
entertaining offers from around the Nation, Jowon is now committed to Virginia heading into his senior
season.
The Eagles will head to Lakota East on August 24th to kick off
Soccer Our Boys and Girls soccer programs continue to thrive and are showing no signs of slowing down any time
soon. With veteran head coach Eric Rothwell heading the boys varsity
team and a very hungry head coach, Tino Mam, heading the girls varsity team both programs are slated for
another year of success. Both teams boasted winning records, and had a handful of players selected for Eastern Cincinnati Conference
Teams, and All-State teams.
Our rising Junior High soccer teams are coming off of great seasons as well. With our boys having the best
record in school history (15-1-1) and winning the Junior High
Tournament!

Girls Volleyball Our High School volleyball
program has had unprecedented success
program wide for the last three seasons. Securing
their best record in Varsity history, this years Seniors
hope to continue their successes with the rising Freshman, Sophomore and Junior classes who had a
record of 24-9.
Three 2018 seniors, Alexis Kontsis, Curran Murray and Audrey Hardig, all went on
to earn college scholarships.
Cross Country Our Cross Country program has
seen great success in past years, and there will be no changes to
that in the 2018-2019 school year. Earning 2nd Place finishes at both
the Princeton and Lakota East Invitationals these teams are hungry to earn the gold this
season. Their first meet will be August 25th at the Lakota East
Invitational.
Golf & Tennis Both programs have had
exponential growth in the past few years and rightfully so. Graduate, Katie Hallinan set
the mark for our girls golf program by winning the Ohio
Division I State Championship, being named 1st team
“everything”, and earning a full ride to Illinois this year to play golf. The throne is for
the taking.

Our Eagles didn’t let the coldest Winter in Cincinnati keep them from being one of the hottest Athletics programs on the playing surface last Winter. With all Winter programs truly dominating the Eastern Cincinnati Conference all season long, both Boys
and Girls Basketball teams, led by Veteran Head Varsity coaches, proved they are once again one of the premier
programs in the State. And it didn’t just stop on the basketball court, as our Cheer, Swimming and Bowling teams all competed
at a high level.
Girls Basketball Our girls program, led by veteran head coach Adam Lazar, has
continued their dominance throughout the tristate area. With the best record in school history of 25-2 last season, earning the title of back-
to-back ECC Champs, winning the District Championship, and heading into the 2018-2019 school season ranked #11 in the state, our varsity girls have their eyes set on a larger goal this season - State Champs.
Led by current Senior Kennedi Myles and a true supporting cast of “All Eastern Cincinnati Conference” athletes on the team these girls are
more than prepared to step to that challenge.
Boys Basketball Our boys program, led by
veteran coach Ricardo Hill, who locked in his 100th
career win with the Eagles last season, and graduate Kameron Gibson - who has
gone on to play for Western Carolina University, led the team to an 18-6 record, while
winning the Eastern Cincinnati Conference. With a lot of rising talent in the
underclassmen level the boys program is poised for
another successful season.

Cheerleading Our cheer team, led by coach Elyse Hill,
is looking to build on what was one of the programs most exciting seasons last
school year. Our cheerleaders work day in and day out to make sure every Walnut athletics event is a premier event for our fans and Nuthouse, and a nightmare for
our opponents. With all levels - Freshman, JV and Varsity - earning 1st
place trophies at different events throughout the season, it was definitely this groups most awarded season. But the teams highlight of the year was earning a
bid to compete in Nationals in Orlando Florida, where they placed 2nd! Go Nuts!
Swimming & Bowling Our High School and Junior High Swim Teams had an absolutely dominate
year, one of the best seasons to date. Led by “Coach of the Year” Jennifer Golden, teams consistently broke personal, school, and conference records.
At the Southwest Coach’s Classic our Boys finished 12th overall, and our girls finished 11th overall, with over 100 teams competing! Both girls and
boys programs look to build on last years great season with a rising JR High team, of which our girls won City - for the 3rd year in a row!
Our High School bowling team continues to grow and improve. With positive records on boys and girls both teams had a handful of athletes earn “All
Conference” Awards.

Our Spring programs continued what was a successful Winter Season, to lead us out of the school year on a high note.
Between increasing numbers across the board in all sports, competing in premier events, and winning at the highest level of High School Athletics the Spring Season was certainly one to
be proud of.
Baseball & Softball Our baseball & softball teams saw major changes in the overall culture of their
program. Both programs had players who had the opportunity to compete in the Cincinnati Public Schools All-Star Game - where they
were able to showcase their talents against other top athletes in the Cincinnati Area, in
which Reilly Schmidt walked away as the Home Run Derby champ.
Our baseball team started the season off by traveling to Cocoa Beach Florida to compete in a National Tournament against other top ranked opponents. Later in the season our boys were invite to play at Great American
Ballpark in the Futures Showcase where they beat West High 8-1!

Boys & Girls Lacrosse Much the same as our other Spring Programs, our lacrosse program has seen
exponential growth and success in the past years. Our boys team has turned itself into a consistently winning program in just a few
short years of being established. The team had 5 boys earn “All Conference” Awards - a program high, and is looking to build off of what is a very experienced
underclassmen group. Our Girls team has also seen rising numbers across the board, and is continuing to
build and grow the culture within the program. Hosting our first ever playoff game last year these two teams are beginning to hit full stride in what has been just a few
short years of existence.
Volleyball & Tennis With both programs building off of strong underclassmen groups the future is
looking very bright. In just its second season our Men’s Volleyball program has found its footing. By
placing 2nd in an early season tournament, and ending the season on a 5 game winning streak this coming season is sure to be a success with a developing
underclassmen group. The team also had the honor of seeing their first graduate go on to play at the collegiate level in Tevis Clark, who is attending Thomas More
College! Our JV Tennis team went 14-2 this past year and continues to increase its team
roster.
