The Bag Lady has gone into retire-ment. November 15th was the saddest day ever. All the Bag Lady clothes went

to the curb in a big garbage can. Doing the “Bag Lady” gig was a wonderful way to make lots of money for the Eagles, one dollar at a time. Thanks to all the great people that always dug deep into their pockets to make the Bag Lady a huge success. Now I have time to get my brain into gear and come up with a new way

to make money for the Eagles. “Eagles 3702 ROCKS!”

Children’s Christmas Party repeat success

Another very successful Children’s Christ-mas Party was held Saturday, Dec. 2nd at the American Legion Hall in Marysville. Over 186 kids and their parents or grandparents were in attendence. A special shout out to Jan Wyllie’s granddaughters Kristy Dennis and Graciana Smith along with her friend, Brooke Nolfo, for assisting with the face painting that was enjoyed by all the kids. Thanks also to the many volunteers that made the party happen!

We are half way through our terms in office. It sure has been going fast. I hope everyone has had a great holiday season and I would like to thank every-one that helped to make all our events go smoothly. We have been doing well on the Golden Eagle Raffle. We still need everyone’s help selling and buying tickets. It is not too early to start thinking about running for an office this coming year. We need fresh people and ideas to keep our aerie moving forward. You can see the results of some ideas in the so-cial room, but we need everyone’s help to make it continue. Talk to the current officers and see where you would be a good fit.

Larry Warren, Worthy President

Carol Hammond headed up the bake sale once again this year and bettered her record-breaking total by several dol-lars. She would like to thank all who baked goodies, donated money and pur-chased the goods. Although we had a Chinese and Silent Auction this year, most people liked the Chinese one but not the silent one and we’ll probably have the live auction back again next year. Thank you to all who participat-ed in the November 4th all-day event.

Happy New Year!

I’d like to thank the Blue Water Eagle Rider Officers, members and supporters for another very successful motorcycle run season. OPening the dOOr fOr Other members Or guests: We are again reminding ALL members dO nOt OPen the dOOr fOr Others. There are valid reasons for this policy: I) The bartender on duty can ensure guests are signed in (In compliance with MLCC laws). 2) The person entering is not de-linquent in dues, or a dropped member. 3) The person ringing the doorbell may need to see an officer of the Aerie. We do understand that you may just be trying to help if you are sitting close to the door but it is the job of an employee to buzz the person(s) in.

Men’s Thursday Shuffleboard The Thursday Men’s Shuffleboard League ended Dec. 7th. Congratulations Jim & Larry Burdick, 2017 Fall League Champions. Many thanks to league members who helped to keep the league successful: Greg Fenner on sign-in sheets; Jim & Larry Burdick “Lucky Puck” sales; Dennis Kish for dress-ing the board each week; Ken Labaj for keeping the games moving and teams prepped for play; George Catron for being final judge and jury; bar waitresses for serving the parched palettes; Herb Hill for assisting and overseeing needs of the league; and all the players for keeping this a friendly, well-contested league. The 2018 Winter League sign-up sheet is posted on the bulletin board with play to start the second Thursday, January 11th. The league takes pride in assisting the Aerie anyway it can and this year, with the salesmanship of Dennis Kish through the sale of 1,048 fifty-fifty tickets the first nine weeks of league play, gave the Aerie $524.00 towards its anniversary party to help offset costs. Golf/Shoe outing in September If you didn’t participate in the Golf/Shoe Outing on Sep-tember 16th, you sure missed out on a very fun day not to mention the best weather you could possibly order. This year there was only ten teams of four but we are hoping that more teams jump aboard and plan on participating next year as we have started a plaque to commemorate first place win-ners of the event. Closest to the pin winners were Jeff Martens for the guys and Deb Martiny for the gals. Longest drive went to Jeff Martens (again) for the fellows and Jane Morris for the girls. The winning team was #10 consisting of Steve Krus, Mike George, Jeff Martens and Kathy Martens with a golf score of 32 minus a horseshoe score of 8 for a final total of 24. Second place was a tie between teams 5 & 6 (# 5 - Bob Harrington, Tonya Epperson, Dave Dickens and Joe Green with a 27) (#6 - Jim Gamble, Bill Patterson, Fro Sickles and David Kibbe also with a 27). Tons of fun for everyone that participated!

2017 Trunk or Treat enjoyed by the kids and volunteers Mother Nature let us have a rather pleasant day for a change as the 2017 Trunk or Treat happened on Sunday, October 29th without rain or snow. A little on the cool side, but not bad for the 240+ kids that went from motorcycle to truck to car to haunted trailer getting their treats. 16 volunteers brought their vehicles and several more people donated candy for a great event for the kids. Thank you Stacie Jewett & Jennifer Dazer, Dana & Renee, Teresa Bodeis, Anna Betts, Carol Ham-mond & Angie Warren, Chuck & Cheryl Phillips, Brenda Conley, The Eagle Rider group, Chris & Jessica Herber, Sherry Roach, Ed & Nancy Robinson, Rennie T. & Heidi C., Linda Tallmadge, Janet Valliere, Christina Willie, Deb Collins & Angie Loxton. Also thanks to those that donated candy: Aerie & Auxiliary, Pam Healy, Gordon & Maureen Inch, Juanita & Gary

Peter, Judy Brown, Mary Vincencio, Mary Willing. Sorry if I missed anyone. a HUGE thanks to everyone that participat-ed. We sure appreciate you being there and helping us out with this event especially for the kids. Hope to see you again next year!

Fall Craft/Vendor Show well liked The Fall Craft /Vendor Show was well liked by the vendors and the attendees. The vendors felt it was laid out nicely to ac-comodate them as well as the people walking through. There was a nice steady crowd throughout the entire event which ran from 10 am to 3 pm on Saturday, November 11th. Mary Willing found a very creative birdhouse at the show. There was a very nice variety of items presented.

Anniversary party a blast! The Club Anniversary Party held on Saturday, November 11th was a total success. First of all you could order a fan-tastic steak or rib dinner, watch the line dancers, listen to a

great band, dance and even ride a mechanical bull like Auxiliary President Lori Anderson did pictured at left. Lots of scenery to set the mood of a western hoe-down plus tons of wanted posters of several notori-ous club members. Great fun was had by everyone that attended. Thank you everyone who contributed to making the event fun for all! Winners for the best dressed cowboy and cowgirl

were Ron Allen and Shelly Monzo. Con-gratulations! There were also several door prize winners. Everyone enjoyed the entire night. Looking forward to the next party!
