From the Aerie Secretary’s DeskDear Brothers and Sisters: Below you will find portions of a let-ter I received from the Grand Aerie about Dues Reminders, which are now mandatory. The total cost to the Aerie should be approximately $900. Two ways to help reduce this cost would be to pay your dues As Soon As Possible and, make certain we have your Correct Mailing Address. During the 2017 International conven-tion in Grand Rapids, Michigan amend-ments were made to the Constitution and Statues and Auxiliary Rules and Regulations regarding Dues Remind-ers. ALL DUES REMINDERS WILL NOW BE SENT OUT BY THE GRAND AERIE using OSG - Output Services Group. There will be three (3) reminders mailed, on or before the 5th day of April, May and June to all members whose dues expire on May 31st, 2018. The cost will be $0.29 per member for U.S. post-age and $1.00 per member for Canadian postage. The cost will be directly billed to your Grand Aerie Accounting state-ment. Please keep in mind, this is no longer an option. It is a requirement! Section 71.5 of the Constitution and Statutes states, “All members who are one (1) month in arrears in their dues must be dropped by the Secretary from the rolls of the Aerie on the first (1st) day of July, or if the first (1st) falls on a Sunday or a Holiday, then on the date following. If the delinquent member is not dropped by the Secretary by the tenth (10th) day of July, the Member-ship Management System (MMS) shall automatically drop the delinquent mem-ber for non-payment of dues.”

Membership Dues are DUE May 31st

All members who are one month in arrears as of July 2, 2018 will be dropped from the member-ship rolls per the Fraternal Order of eagles national.

Springs right around the corner. Soon we’ll be starting our motorcycle runs. We have four runs and a games day planned for 2018. Our first run will be Friday Food For Kids run on May 19th, along with a “blessing of the bikes”. June 16th will be our Mike Hutchinson Memorial Hunter House run, July 21 will be our Al Greenia Memorial Pets for Vets run. The season will end with a Bike Rodeo to benefit The Rainbow Connection on September 15th. Details of that event are in the planning stages and will be announced. Lots of great times are planned, so mark your calen-ders and get those “bikes” ready!

Spring time is almost here...that is hard to believe. As I write this we have just come off two great weekends at the Aerie, with three more lined up. It is nice to see all the people supporting us. The Golden Eagle drawing has been a big hit. If you haven’t been in for a while come see us and check out what’s been happening. We have nominations for officers April 17, 2018. Most of the offices are up for election with the exception of the Secre-tary and 3 Trustee positions. Elections will be held May 1st, 2018. The changes we all like to see won’t happen if we fail to support the organization, new ideas are needed.

Special Aerie initiation and District Meeting There will be a special Aerie initiation on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 11:30 am. Anyone who has proposed a new mem-ber who is unable to attend our regular initiations, have your candidate here. The monthly District meeting will be at our Aerie on April 15, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Please come represent our Aerie. If we have enough in attendance we can win the attendance trophy. We have not won this in quite some time.

The Aerie nominations will be at the April 17th and Auxiliary nominations will be April 25th The Aerie Election on Tuesday, May 1st from 12 noon to 7:00 p.m. The Auxiliary Election will be held on Wednesday, May 9th from 12 noon to 7:00 p.m. Worthy Offices open are: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Chaplain, Conduc-tor, Inside Guard, one 3-year Trustee, one 2-year Trustee. Auxiliary Offices open are: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Chaplain, Conductor, Inside Guard, Outside Guard and two Trustees. Nominations for Officers of the Eagle Riders will be at the April 1st meeting. The voting and Election Sunday, May 6th. The following Offices are open: Presi-dent, Vice President, Secretary and Trea-surer.

The Funeral Luncheons are back thanks to all the Auxiliary Officers. The luncheons are available to Eagle members and their immediate family only. For hall availability, please contact Anna Betts at (810) 292-2080. Congratulations to Jan Wyllie and Anna Betts for being nominated for the Isabel Vallie/Imogene Harac Award. Nominations for Auxiliary Officers will be held at our April 25th meeting. If any Auxiliary member is interested in becom-ing an officer, now is the time to step for-ward. All the Officer positions are avail-able this year. The election will be held on May 9th. Lots of fun things are happening at our club and we welcome new ideas for other ones. Don’t hesitate to step forward and make a suggestion!

There were two raffle drawing on December 16th. The win-ner of the Ham Raffle was Debra Tucke and the winner of the Wagon of Toys Raffle was Stacie Jewett. Congratulations ladies! Thank you to everyone that purchased tickets and supported these raffles for the Ladies Auxiliary. It is greatly appreciated. The February 4th Super Bowl Large Screen TV Raffle was won by Tom Almanderez. Proceeds to that raffle went to the Aerie. Thanks to everyone that supported this and pur-chased tickets. The winner of the Valentine Sweetheart Basket Raffle was Ed Robinson, drawn on February 14th. It was perfect as it is also Ed and Nancy’s anniverary on the 14th of February. Congratulations on both accounts!

A huge project that almost takes a village to per-form but we “got er done” with the help of a room full of dedicated volun-teers starting at 10 a.m. in the morn-ing and working until the job was finished into the late afternoon. There were 113 families that re-ceived the baskets from the F.O.E. 3702 Auxiliary this year. Thank you to everyone that helped to put this altogether, pack boxes, man the food , gift stations and delivered. What a fantastic job you all did!

Big THANK YOU A special BIG thank you to a couple people that came through for me when I needed a couple things to complete a project. Thanks, first of all, to “Perky” for making me twelve 2x4 wood bases for a couple games I came up with and need to complete the game pieces. Actually he made me a couple extra in case one broke. And secondly, thank you to Anna Betts for finding, purchasing and donating the other key part to the games to complete the project, the large dice. I certainly appreciated the answer to my call. Chili Cook Off ...”tasty” fun! Lots of fun and tasty chili from ten entries into the Chili Cook Off held on Saturday, Febraury 24th. The winners of the “spiciest” and the “best tasting” was Tabatha Hegler, one of the Eagle bartenders. “Most unusual” was won by the Eagles cook, Wes Mosher. The entries were hidden behind boxes and no one was aware of which one belonged to who. The judges were all the people that sampled each entry and voted on a ballot. Thank you to all who made chili and also thanks to all who sampled and voted. Was lots of fun!
