Dear Parents, Families, and Friends,Welcome back! We are off to an exciting start for the 2011- 2012

school year. By now things have settled down (as much as possible) andthe students have settled in. I know that this year will be an adventuredue to the construction but please remember to be kind, patient andunderstanding while Euper Lane Elementary undergoes its facelift. Themotto for this year is Be Calm and Carry On!

I would like to thank Lisa Spears and Martha Van Asche forproviding a wonderful back to school luncheon for the teachers and staff. Iwould also like to thank Vicki Anderson and all of her volunteers for afantastic Back-to-School celebration. Thanks also go to Julie Crawford,Rachel McIntosh, Ethan McIntosh, Mitchell McIntosh, LaurenMcKinney and Martha Van Asche for all of their help assembling thePTA packets. Shelly Blaylock has us off to a great start on our PTA membershipdrive. If you havent joined the PTA yet please consider doing so. I hopeeveryone has seen and had an opportunity to purchase the new EuperLane t-shirt. Thanks to Sydney Clayton for all of the hard work ondesigning and heading up the Spirit Sale. I want to give a major THANK

YOU to Gary Brooks for all of his help with traffic. Its a big job with all ofthe construction and chaos going on at the school and we reallyappreciate all of the hard work he has done! I also want to thankeveryone else who helped work traffic duty.

If you have not already turned in your PTA volunteer informationplease do so soon. If you have any question about volunteering contactJennifer Sexton or Jessica Young . Betsy Robinson is busy collectinginformation for the school directory. If you have not filled out yourpermission slip or purchased an ad please do so as soon as possible. Weneed to get the directory off to the printers a.s.a.p!

Our fall fundraiser I n n i s b r o o k kicked off Friday August 26th.Thanks to Cheryl Maxw ell and Sarah Carlisle for organizing this event.

The fundraiser runs until September 14. Please participate as its ourmajor fundraiser of the year. All profits go towards our budget and projectspending for our classrooms.

I want to thank my Executive Board for all of their hard work so far.I look forward to working with everyone and I know we can have asuccessful year. SCHOOL FUNDRAISER

Keep up the great work on our Innisbrook fundraiser! And remember

to turn in your coupons for the Terrific Thursday prizes! The top five

sellers from Grades K-2 and Grades 3-6 will win a limo ride and fun trip

to Chuck E. Cheese!

EAGLE FLYER UPDATEThanks for checking out this mini-edition of the Eagle Flyer. We are

busy assembling our new staff of student reporters, photographers,

cartoonists, and graphic designers. Check back with us on Friday,

October 7th for the first full-length edition of the Eagle Flyer for the

2011-2012 school year. This years Flyer will include new items that we

think you will love, along with some of your favorite features and

reporters from last year. We know you will enjoy the talented

contributions from our amazing Eagle Flyer staff!

The newsletter is published monthly and is available on the first Friday

of the month. You may read the Eagle Flyer online on the Euper Lane

page of the Fort Smith Public Schools website (see address below in

box). A link is also published on our PTA Facebook page. Hard copies

are available in the office. If you would like an email alert to inform

you when the newsletter is available for download, please send an

email to eagleflyernews@cox.net with the word Subscribe in the

subject line.

Contributions are accepted from all Euper Lane students and staff -

inclusion is dependent upon available space and content.

And wed like to say a great big THANK YOU to Ms. Karen Davis who

has agreed to join our editorial staff this year!
