Activity 2: Ink Drawing – Self Portrait -Materials: Paper, Pencil, Eraser, Gel Pen -Additional Materials: Placemat, Black Marker -Directions: On the paper, you are to draw yourself from head to shoulders in pencil. Feel free to add accessories (sunglasses, hats, necklaces, bows, etc.). Using your gel pen or marker, you are going to trace all the pencil marks. In the background, you are to create patterns with lines and shapes in pencil before tracing in gel pen or marker. Activity 3: Watercolor Painting – Gems & Crystals -Materials: Paper, Pencil, Eraser, Ruler, Watercolor Paints, Water, Brush, Paper Towel -Additional Materials: Placemat, Apron/T-Shirt, Black Marker/Sharpie -Directions: You are to use your pencil and ruler to draw your own gems and crystals. Next you are going to paint your gems and crystals. If you desire, when the painting is complete dry you may trace the pencil marks in black marker or sharpie. -Advice: Remember the value chart you created in class using pencil and color pencil. Let the paint dry before adding another layer to make the color darker. To make the color lighter, add more water to your brush with little paint. Activity 1: Drawing – Wrinkled Art

-Materials: Cardboards, Toilet Paper/Paper Towel Rolls, Pencil, Eraser, Scissor, Tempera Paint, Brush,

Water, Glue, Tape, Stapler

-Additional Materials: Placemat, Apron/T-Shirt, Random Found Objects (Buttons, Construction Papers,

Water Bottles, Aluminum Foil, etc.), Palette

-Directions: First, cut the cardboards and rolls in various sizes and shapes. Next, use tempera paint to

color your pieces. Set aside to dry as you work on the next one. Once all pieces are dry, you may start

placing them together to form a robot of your choice.

-Advice: You may cut little slits or use a tape or stapler to connect your pieces. As well as fold or twist.

-Note: Parents, please monitor and assist students when necessary to avoid accidents; however, they

should still be able to work independently.
