Installing or upgrading the M.2 SSD

Removing the top cover1. TurnoffyourVivoMinithendisconnectallcablesandperipherals.

2. PlacetheVivoMinionaflatstablesurface,withitstopsidefacingdown.

3. Removethescrewfromthetopcoverlocklatchandpushthelatchdown(AandB),thenslidethetopcovertowardstherearofyourVivoMini(C)untilitisdetachedfromthechassis.

4. LiftthetopcoverslightlyanddisconnectthecablesconnectedtothePWR2 and HDD2 R/ODD connectors.

5. Remove the top cover and set it aside.

1. Removetheeight(8)screwssecuringtheHDD1L and HDD1R brackets.

2. DisconnectthecablesfromtheHDD1L, HDD1R, and PWR1 connectors.

4. Removethenine(9)screwsfromtheHDDlayer(A),thenprytheSO-DIMMslotcoveropen(B)andsetitaside.

NOTE:IfyouwanttoremovetheSO-DIMMslotcover,useaflatheadscrewdriver.

3. RemovetheHDDbracketsandsetthemaside.

6. LifttheHDDlayerbutdonotremoveitcompletely.

IMPORTANT!LifttheHDDlayercarefullytopreventpullingonandcausingdamagetothecablesconnected.

5. Removetheantennasfromthewirelesscard.

7. LifttheflapoftheUSB3_12connectorandremovethecable.

8. RemovetheUSB32cablebypullingtheflapupwards,thenpeelofftheblacktapesecuringthecabletothefan.

NOTE: IfyouhavetroubleremovingtheUSB32cable,useaflatheadscrewdriver.

9. RemovetheHDDlayerandsetitaside.

IMPORTANT!EnsuretheblacktapesecuringtheUSB32cabletothefanandallcablesfromthestepsaboveareremovedbeforeremovingtheHDDlayer.

1. Removethethree(3)screwsonthefan(A),thenremovethefancablefrom the CPU_FANconnector(B).

2. Loosenthethree(3)screwsontheCPUheatsinkinthesequenceshownintheillustration,thenremovethefanandheatsinkmodule.

AligntheM.2SSDwiththeM.2slot,theninserttheM.2SSDintotheM.2slotandsecureitwithascrew.

1. AlignthefanandheatsinkmodulewiththeCPUandscrewholesandsecurethescrewsontheheatsinkinthesequenceshownintheillustration.

IMPORTANT!Twisteachofthescrewsinthesequenceshownintheillustrationwithascrewdriverjustenoughtoattachtheheatsinktothemotherboard.Whenthescrewsareattached,tightenthemonebyone.

2. Installthethree(3)screwstosecurethefan(A),thenconnectthefancabletotheCPU_FANconnector(B).

4. Connecttheantennastothewirelesscard.

1. InserttheUSB3_12cableintotheUSB3_12 connector and push the flapdowntosecurethecable.

2. InserttheUSB32cabletotheUSB32connector.Ensurethecableisseated securely on the connector.

3. ReplacetheHDDlayer.

5. ReplacetheSO-DIMMslotcover(A),thensecuretheHDDlayerusingthenine(9)screwsremovedpreviously(B).

2. Placethetopcoveronthechassis.

NOTE:EnsuretoorganizethecablestopreventanydamagetoyourVivoMiniandtoensurethetopcovercanbereplacedsuccessfully.

3. SlidethetopcovertowardsthefrontoftheVivoMinitore-attachit(A),thenpushthelatchupandsecureitusingascrew(BandC).
