Flexible Containment

A low cost soluon for small batch sizes or for incorporangaddional protecon to an exisng product handling operaon.

The Flexible Glovebag/Isolator is a so walled

containment system that can be used as an alternave

to a hard walled isolator in many applicaons. Flexible

wall isolators oer a high degree of protecon for both

the operator and the product. Howorths unique exible

approach can oer design, manufacture and delivery at

an aordable price within opmum mescales.

Flexible Isolator designs are exible in many ways.

They can be made to meet a range of specicaons and

requirements in almost any applicaon for containment

and asepc processes. The Glovebag/Isolator may

be made in unusual shapes, sizes and have mulple

compartments for applicaons where hard sided

isolators would be impraccal or extremely expensive.

Lower glovebag/ isolator costs allow for single use

dedicated applicaons. This eliminates decontaminaon

process costs and lost producon me which is oen

associated with xed isolator process change, cleaning

and re-validaon.

Flexible construcon consists of fully welded polyurethane/PVCenvelope with a simple breathable hepa lter to allow gloves

and sleeves movement as well as permit envelope collapse at

the end cycle ready for disposal. The envelope can be supported

from modular tubular secon and ngs. The envelope would

be aached via bungee cord or sleeve with popper studs which is

welded to the enclosure for quick and easy installaon.

Semi exible construcon will allow

the same exibility as above with

more robust construcon. The

base or sidewalls of the glovebag/

isolator will have a rigid stainless

steel base tray, which can allow for

process connecon and equipment

to penetrate through into the

enclosure. The polyurethane/PVC

canopy can clip or be anged to the

stainless steel base and then can be

mounted in the same way to support

the frame.

are manufactured to the highest

standards, seams are fully welded

and corners are appropriately

nished in accordance with cGMP guidelines. Features include:

Ergonomic envelope design which will minimize operator

Connuous Liner Systems

The exible glovebag/isolator can be as simple as

an atmosphere envelope with integrated lter for

gloves and sleeves movement or can be maintained

at a negave or posive pressure for containment

or asepc applicaon. These envelopes can even be

decontaminated using vaporized hydrogen peroxide

(also known as hydrogen peroxide vapour, HPV,

and by the trademarked name VHP). This is a gaseous form of

hydrogen peroxide with applicaons at a low-temperature and uses

anmicrobial gas to decontaminate enclosed areas.

cGMP Design & Construcon

Howorth understands the increasingly demanding

internaonal health and safety standards that our clients

are required to work to. Our containment soluons and

associated documentaon meet or exceed the relevant

cGMP, FDA, ATEX and other global standards.

Our Flexible containment Glovebag / Isolator range can

provide high degree of integrity, which gives on average

an OEL of less than 1g/m base on 8 Hour TWA. Thematerial transfer methods and techniques will ulmately

dene the systems true containment level.

Design Excellence

Howorth takes advantage of its use of advanced 3D CAD

system for concept designs and drawings which allow

the operators to see realisc visual representaons of

the exible glovebag/Isolator. There is the opon of

a full scale mock-up for complex pieces of equipment

which allows the full opmum ergonomic placement of

ancillary and process equipment.
