The purpose of e-resource manager is to develop an approach to a resource allocation problem that typically appears in organization with a centralized decision-making environment. The central unit maximizes the total amount of outputs produced by the individual units by allocating available resources to them. The management of the storage is accomplished using a powerful and intuitive web-based graphical user interface (GUI) that controls the full suite of storage networking capabilities. Management capabilities are grouped into separate sub-interfaces in accordance with their functional domain; networking, physical volumes, user and group authentication/authorization, system configuration and status information are each given a scope. Allocation of resources into distinct components can be achieved within the physical volume management scope. Administrators can perform resource limiting tasks by taking advantage of the inherent Quota Management tools for both users and groups. The storage resource allocation rules allow the administrator to control the amount of disk capacity usage as well as the number for file system objects, files and directories, that a user or group may take up. If a group is allocated a certain amount of resources, the administrator can further limit resources for specific users within that group. The administrator can view the system status - displaying system resource usage such as memory, processor and storage capacity. The administrator is allowed to make a better plan for future resource allocation requirements.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVES

The system will facilitate to not only the quicken the process

but make the system very effective and efficient.

Automation of process ensures that the screening and short

listing is accurate and can also make sure that the system is as

transparent as possible .

Page 5: E - Resource Manager

EXISTING SYSTEM Existing System was a time-consuming manual process that included

handling of large amounts paper and required considerable administrator

workload. The administrator creates a file for each recruitment process.

Modification and updating of storage allocation were a very difficult task

for the administrator .The user can save any kind of data irrelevant to the

company.

Allocation of resources into distinct components cannot be achieved within

the physical volume management scope.

Same amount of storage space was allocated to all groups of employees.

Some group of employees use always less space and hence the resource

could not be used effectively.

Page 6: E - Resource Manager

PROPOSED SYSTEM

The new system has been designed to reduce time, cost, and human effort

required for resource allocation. The user can request the administrator for

resource allocation through online.

The user details can be easily modified and updated. The administrator can

modify the resource allocation to the users at any time.

The administrator can block any type of file extension, so the unnecessary

data cannot be stored.

After the allocation of resource the confirmation mail will be sent to the

users. The administrator can filter the users by their nature of work.

MODULE DESCRIPTION

Page 20: E - Resource Manager

In this module, the user needs to login to proceed the storage

space. To login the user needs to get registered by providing their

details. Once they have got registered the admin will approve the request

and details sent to their respective mail ids. With the help of their

username and password the candidate can login to their user directory

page.

1. User Registration

2. Active New User

In this module, the administrator check the registered user details and

allocate the space to the valid user its depend upon their need. The admin can

restrict the storage of irrelevant file extension. The admin can set the home

directory for each and every user. All files will be saved only in this directory.

Page 21: E - Resource Manager

3. User Details

In this module , the administrator can view the details of user in

individual manner and all user details. Administrator can modify the user

record such as mail –id and phone number and delete the user records also

the admin can change the properties after allocating space to user like

block some file extension and space allocation.

4. Group Details

In this module , the administrator can view the details of department

in individual manner and all department details. Administrator can modify

the group record such as mail –id and phone number and delete the

department records also the admin can change the properties after

allocating space to group like block some file extension and space

allocation.

5. User Directory Page

After the administrator to approved the user, Once they

have approved the allocation details is sent to their respective mail

ids. The user has own directory page in this page the user has

allotted space .The user can store their official data.

6. Upload the File

The user can upload the data from their personal computer to

the file server. The administrator can block any type of file extension, so

the unnecessary data cannot be stored by user.

7. Download the File

The user can download the necessary file from the file server.

As a part of the project work, the existing paper based manual

system aspects management process has been studied and the requirements

identified for the automated system. The E-Resource Manager application

designed and developed during the course of the project has been successfully

tested against the requirements and currently, the system is implemented in SERC

for a trial run. After a few weeks of the trial run, the E-Resource Manager would

be launched across SERC organization for the employees along with other

automated systems that are currently being developed by their IT department to

move the whole organization from paper-based administration to Web based

administration.
