The E-Rate program is administered by the Schools and Libraries division of the Universal
Service Administration Company.The program is designed to ensure schools and
libraries have access to telecommunications and information services.
The mission statement of the program is to supplement and complement the state effort to improve the education quality of students.

E-Rate discounts are determined by economic need and location.

East Chambers Junior High is one campus of four in the East Chambers ISD. Our district is
located in the small agricultural town of Winnie and is classified “urban” by E-Rate.
Our district population is 1,257 students with 46.54% qualifying for the National School
Lunch Program.
Improve student academic achievement through the use of technology
Integrate technology skills and use into the various content areas
Provide technology and learning opportunities to the community and parents
Improve teacher/administrator skills in using technology in instructional settings
Improve the technical support of District equipment and software
Increase the role of administrators in implementing technology at the building level

Secure funding for meeting technological needs for East Chambers ISD
Provide documentation that technology is making a positive impact in classrooms
The E-Rate service helps to provide school districts and libraries with access to
telecommunications and service.
Our district is a recipient of E-Rate funds to help ensure we meet all technology goals
identified by the STaR Chart.
