INDORE PUBLIC SCHOOL RECEIVES INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL AWARD

BY THE BRITISH COUNCIL

Our school has been awarded with the Prestigious International Award,

by the British Council on December 12, 2019 at Ahmedabad. Principal Ms. Sudha Pandey and the ISA Coordinator Ms Pooja Pahuja received the award from the Director of British Council, Ms. Barbara and Mr. Peter Brook, the British Deputy High Commissioner of Gujarat and Maharashtra. The award was formally bestowed in a glittering ceremony, in the presence of the dignitaries of all the schools of West Zone. This award is the resultant of the meticulously planned and innovative work on international platform.

INDORE PUBLIC SCHOOL HOSTS THE SAHODAYA SAMAGAM GROUP – FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

Our school hosted the Football Tournament under the aegis of Sahodaya Samagam to foster the spirit of participation among children, broaden the talent pool for football and provide a fun, competitive and challenging playing atmosphere for all. The tournament started on December 3, 2019 and continued till December 6, 2019 at the lush green football ground. On 4/12/19, final match of U – 14 (Boys Category) was played and the team from Sanmati Higher Secondary School emerged as the winner of the tournament.On the closing day, Semi final & Final matches of U- 19 Boys category were played and the team of Choithram Manik Bagh emerged victorious by 1 – 0, after a tough struggle with the team of Rajeshwar H. S. School.Certificates, medals and trophies were awarded to winners and runners-up.

INTER – HOUSE WIND CHIME MAKING

An Inter-house Wind Chime Making 'Best out of waste' Competition was organised on December 6, 2019 for the students of Classes VI - IX. Children of all the four houses — Gandhi, Raman, Subhash and Tagore, put their best foot forward and made innovative and fascinating wind chimes using curtain rods, metallic things, plastic, wooden pipes, colourful bangles, beads, bells, spoons, forks, keys and many other ingenious materials.

PHOTO FRAME MAKING

An activity of Popsicle Photo Frame Making was organised on December 7, 2019 for the tiny tots of Pre-Primary Block. They made adorable photo frames by joining ice cream sticks and embellished them with stars, flowers & mirrors and even pasted their own drawings in the frame. The students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm.

JUNIOR STATE KURASH CHAMPIONSHIP

Students bagged three Bronze Medals in Kurash, a form of wrestling - thindigenous to Central Asia, at 6 Cadet & Junior State Kurash

Championship held at Gwalior from December 5 to 7, 2019 under the

mentorship of Mr. Kamal Dabi.

Khushi Jain (XI) – 44 Kg in the U-17 Girls,

Manish Patel (XI) – 65 Kg in the U –17 Boys

Himanshu Yadav (XI) – 55 Kg in the U – 19 Boys

All the aboue won bronze by outplaying all their rivals.

Students celebrated the birthday of honourable President Ar. Achal Choudhary on December 12, 2019. The Principal, staff and students surprised President Sir with a splendid gathering. The mellisonant sound of the ute played by Shri Salil Daate, the power point presentation on the life of President Sir, the bewitching birthday card were the cynosures of the day.

RAMANUJAN WEEK, 16th to 20th DECEMBER

thTo commemorate the 130 birth anniversary of renowned Indian mathematician, Dr. Srinivasa Ramanujan, 'Ramanujan Week' was organised from December 16 to 20, 2019. The GANIT Week' (Growing Aptitude in Numerical Innovations and Training) helped the students to overcome the fear of mathematics by learning the subject in a fun manner. In the entire-week, interactive activity-based sessions were organised for students on various topics like Mathematics in nature, Mathematics in architecture, Pascal's triangle, Vedic Mathematics etc.On the inception of the week, the students were given a series of questions and the students who solved them quickly and correctly were given appreciation and they have also witnessed a wholly informative session on various eminent scientists in the field of Mathematics. The following day was rather interesting as magic squares were given to the students of classes II to V and discussed about “The History of Zero”, “Importance of Mathematics in our daily life” and “The benefits of learning Mathematics” in all the classes.

thOn 18 a quiz competition was organised for the students of class V to IX in which all the students participated with great enthusiasm.The next day was a very intriguing day, as the Math Exhibition was opened for the students. The display of Fibonacci series, working models, charts, puzzles with interesting facts related to numbers etc. were put up in the exhibition to enhance the knowledge of students. The concepts explained by the students during the exhibition were interesting and a simplified version of monstrous theorems.

The Closing Ceremony was an amalgam of fun, creativity and learning. It culminated with several activities and competitions like Puzzles, calculator Brain Activity, Skit on the life history of Ramanujan, Maths Relay Race, Rubik's Cube Solving, 3-D Shapes Making Competition and Mega Quiz. Students also presented the life and work Ramanujan highlighting his invaluable contribution to the field of Mathematics. Winners were awarded with prizes, medals and certificates.

RAMANUJAN WEEK, 16th to 20th DECEMBER

The SOF International Math Olympiad is a means to identify and encourage the mathematical creativity of students. It was conducted on December 17, 2019 wherein 106 students participated ranging from class I to XI.

The SOF National Cyber Olympiad is a global search competition that nurtures cyber talent amongst the school-going generation. It was held on December 19, 2019 wherein participating students ranged from classes I to XI.

Celebrating in gusto, the Tiny Tots of Pre-Primary reveled in the Yuletide

fervour by participating in the various activities conducted to mark the

occasion. The festive spirit was witnessed among the students and

teachers. Christmas tree was beautifully decorated. Carols were sung

and emphasis was laid on caring, sharing and spreading love all around.

Students relished on the sweets distributed by Santa Claus himself.

VISIT TO VARIOUS HOUSES OF WORSHIP

Tiny-Tots of pre-primary section were taken on a visit to different places of

worship like Church, Temple, Mosque and Gurudwara in the

neighborhood on December 20, 2019 to understand the different forms

of spiritual expression. The calm and serene atmosphere of the places

filled them with a renewed energy. The spirituality and vibrancy lingering

in the atmosphere gave immense satisfaction.

GIFT-WRAPPING COMPETITION

The Gift-Wrapping Competition was held for students of Primary Block on December 20, 2019. The students participated wholeheartedly and used different decorative materials right from simple ribbons, packing paper to intricate and beautiful net and laces to showcase their creativity and imagination.

PICNIC TO GRAND MACHAL

A picnic was arranged for the students of Class 12th students to The Grand Machal on December 22, 2019. It was a great stress buster for them. It helped them to reduce the stress and anxiety related to studies and allowed them to ease up from in the bright sunlight. The time spent with friends and teachers, basking in nature, breathing fresh air and enjoying adventurous rides was a great experience. It was an overwhelming experience which they will cherish forever.

Alumni till 2019 batch made their way back to their alma mater to enjoy a glimpse of their youth on December 24 and 25, 2019. This grand occasion was graced by Alumni teachers and students from various parts of the globe. President IPS Group of Institutions, Ar. Achal Choudhary and Principal Ms. Sudha Pandey gave a personal approach to invite the Alumni through a special video, to revive the school days and attend the program in large numbers. They registered themselves in morning on December 24, and moved to the School Hostel in the campus for a 'Memorable Sojourn' to relive the life of a boarder. They revived and rejuvenated their old memories and moments with their old friends and lit up their faces with beautiful divine smiles and also shared their post-school life events and introduced others to their families.

Great bonhomie was observed everywhere. The unique celebration included special school assembly, school visit, cultural program, and an audio visual presentation to display the changes that took place over time in the school followed by special group banquet. Camp fire and DJ night turned the ambience electric and thrilling.

The dawn of December 25 brought further merriment as it was also made special by involving them in activities like Yoga, Zumba and special Indori breakfast. Finally they bid goodbye and left with mementos, gifts and sweet memories to cherish.

Psychometric tests are a set of physical and mental queries, which aims at testing the learning capability and cognitive capacity of a student. It will help students to understand their strengths and limitations before choosing the stream after their Secondary Exams. It would also help parents and teachers to extend support to the students in choosing right subjects after Secondary Exams. This test was conducted for the students of class IX and XI.

PSYCHOMETRIC TEST FOR CLASSES IX & XI

Hubs of Learning is a cluster formed by CBSE of 4-6 schools, for the purpose of collaborative growth, promoting self-improvement and for ensuring the enhancement of the quality of education.

Mock Practical Exams were conducted in the collaborative schools with the aim to facilitate students with the opportunity to score high marks when they face the externals during CBSE Practical Exams. The experiments in collaborative schools were monitored by Mr. Manoj Kulshestra for Physics in J.J Public School and Mr. Nagendra Pandey for Chemistry in Vidhyanjali International School.
