Established in 1952 and situated in a sprawling campus of nearly 17 acres in the very heart of thetown with all infrastructural facilities, M.L.T. College, Saharsa (formerly known as Saharsa College,Saharsa) has acquired an unenviable position for itself over the years as an institution having the
potency for excellence. At present it is under the jurisdiction of B.N. Mandal University,Madhepura, Bihar. In tune with the challenging objective to enhance and promote quality inteacher education, it was an ambitious plan of Govt. of Bihar to startup the B.Ed. courses in
constituent colleges under the self �nancing scheme. In this respect the State Govt. verygraciously granted NOC vide Ref. no. 13/u.ni. dated on 02.02.2011 to start the aforesaid course.
Consequently the College has earned the recognition from the NCTE, Bhubaneswar w.e.f. theacademic session 2012-2013, for running the B.Ed. course with an intake of 100(Hundred two
unit) seats Vide NCTE, ERC Letter No. ERC/7-141.6.31/NCTE/B.Ed/2012/13860 Dated 30thAugust, 2012 and Revised recognition Vide Letter No. ERC/NCTE/ERCAPP567/B.Ed.(Revised
Order)/2015/32228 Dated 27th May, 2015. The B.Ed. Program of Department of Education of thiscollege was given a�liation by Bhupendra Narayan Mandal Universtiy, Madhepura vide letter no.
G.S.(G.S 1014/12)107/13 dated 25.01.2013. The college has a good Library, Science Laboratories,Psychology Lab, Educational Technology Lab, Computer Laboratories, Language Laboratories,
