The DYONICS™ GLIDER™ Articular Cartilage Probe is an earlyintervention tool for treatment of articular cartilage disease. Throughcontrolled application of RF energy on grade II and III chondromalacia, the DYONICS GLIDER probe is designed to maximize preservation ofhealthy cartilage tissue while restoring its smooth, gliding surface.

Designed exclusively for treatment of chondromalaciaThe DYONICS GLIDER probe debrides and smoothsdiseased cartilage along the contoured surfaces of the jointwhile limiting the depth of chondrocyte death to 150 micronsor less.

Restore the glide; preserve the tissue.

Pivoting head that maintains tissue contact over articular cartilage surface

Flexible nitinol wires to enhanceaccess and facilitate consistentapplication of pressure

Low-mass electrode todebride tissue and preciselycontrol penetration depth

Sliding oversheath simplifiesinsertion, withdrawal and navigationin the joint.

Scientifically determined power setting minimizes cell deathResearch indicates that when in contact with cartilage, apower setting of 60 watts reduces electrical current flow andheat to the cartilage tissue.* In addition, the autorecognitionof the probe and software controls of the generator preventovertreatment of tissue.

Creates a smooth cartilage surfaceIn vitro studies have demonstrated the DYONICS™ GLIDERprobe creates a smooth cartilage surface with a superficiallayer of cell death. The images above compare the depth ofcell death and the smoothing effect achieved with theDYONICS GLIDER probe versus all-purpose arthroscopicradiofrequency (RF) devices.*

Impedance control maximizes cartilage preservationThe Smith & Nephew VULCAN™ Generator’s uniqueimpedance control software constantly monitors theDYONICS GLIDER probe’s impedance and delivers theamount of energy needed to smooth cartilage only whenthe probe is in contact with tissue.
