Introduction

Dynamo International is a nonprofit association created on 2001. It was born from Dynamo AMO

(helping service to young people in their environment) specialized after more than 25 years in the social

street work to benefit children and young people in Brussels.

Dynamo has three lines of work :

In details…

The Network of Social Street Workers

Currently Dynamo International coordinates the International Network of Social Street Workers,

consisting of 48 countries where 23 are European and it is recognized by the European Network

against Poverty and Social Exclusion. This network allows to facilitate collaborations, promote

formations, exchanging of experiences and good social street work practices, and to make the

social street work known around the world.

The Cooperation to Development

Under this sector Dynamo International was recognized as a NGO (non-governmental

organization) after 2004. It carries as well education activities aimed for development in order to

sensitize a large audience about the problems with development and to contribute to build a

better perception of reality of the children and young people living on the streets and adults

living in tenuousness situation in Europe and third world countries. Also, Dynamo is a member of

ACODEV (Federation of French speaking NGOs), CNCD (National Center for Cooperation to

Development, for its initials on French) and CIDE (Group in charge of monitoring the International

Convention of Children’s Rights).

Dynamo International Mobilité After 2009, Dynamo International launched a Particular Pedagogic Project « Mobility Project, Insertion of Young People in Difficulties ». Thereby engaging in a volunteering project becomes as well a reality that is accessible for them. It’s about of reaching for an equal opportunity for the access of international mobility with and for these young people. The objectives of the Mobility Project are:

Facilitate the access to resources, services, programs, structures and existing possibilities (Specially the European Voluntary Service) to people between 13 and 25 years old in need of being accompanied in the research of a future project ;

Help and support social workers in their collective mobility projects of international exchange of young people in difficulties as well in the mobility programs that exists for everybody above 13 years old;

Sensitize the public opinions on an international level, the authorities and professionals on the Youth Aid sector to address socio-professional issues when it comes to the insertion of young people in difficulties.

What kind of activities can you expect during your EVS?

The main activities to be carried out weekly by the volunteer are as follows:

– Support youngsters in their mobility project, – Promotion of EVS and mobility programs, – Social networking activities about projects, – Support the team during different trainings, – Animate activities such as youth camps, youth exchanges, – Help and support in the execution of projects at local, regional and international level – Contacting possible project partners in different European countries, – Volunteer will be encouraged to provide ideas and new contributions for activities. He (She) will also have to opportunity to write articles, make personal dissemination actions.

How is the flat furnished?

The apartment, that is attached to the offices of

Dynamo International, it’s on the 1st floor of the house

has:

- A common space for kitchen and living room.

- A common bathroom with a large arranging

space.

- A small terrace

- 4 individual rooms: that are available for the

European volunteers or interns that come

from other associations or organizations for a

long period of time.

- 1 shared room (with bunk beds): It is used by interns or partners of the International Network of

Street Workers of Dynamo International that stay for a short period of time.

- WIFI Connection to access the internet

- Television and DVD player – no cable

Rooms have an area of 10 to 20 m², they are furnished with bed, office, wardrobe, and dining table

(includes the bed sheets)
