8th Grade Baby Pictures Announcement 8thgrade students, we need your baby pictures for the 2017-
2018 yearbook. Please give your picture or scan and email to Mrs. Sullivan or
Mrs. Postler by Friday, October 6th.
Please have your name and homeroom gently written on the back of the

Coming this Friday – October 6th 6th Grader Movie Matinee is this Friday, October 6th from 3:00 to 5:30 in the
Presentation Hall.
Vote for your choice of movie on the 6th Grade Schoology Group and remember
voting ends Tuesday at midnight.

Sean Stellato Sean P. Stellato is an NFLPA, NBPA, and CFLPA Certified Sports Agent,
motivational speaker, and author. He has negotiated contracts with the Eagles,
Patriots’, Jaguars, Packers and many other teams.
He will be speaking to our DMS students on October 18th in the PAC
beginning at 10:45am and ending at 12:00pm.
Parents are welcomed to attend this presentation. Please remember to park in
visitor parking and enter through the DHS doors.
Welcome to DMS! The PTO needs your donation so we can
ensure the upcoming school year is successful for your children.
Please donate to the PTO and help us fund activities for DMS. You don’t need to volunteer to join, but we do need donations to sustain and increase the events we host for students and teachers throughout the year. The DMS PTO raises money to fund the following programs:

News from the Library Be sure to ask your 6th grader about our brand new DMS Mock Newbery
Program, funded by book fair proceeds. We are reading an assortment of NEW
middle school fiction and voting on our top choice for the DMS Mock Newbery
Award. Perhaps we will choose the same book as the Newbery Medal which is
awarded in February 2018.
DMS Drama News Calling all DMS Drama Families: ACT/Adults Caring for Theatre is hosting the
Annual Drama Family Club Pizza Party on Wednesday October 11th, 6-7pm in
the DHS Breadboard. We would love for you to join us and learn more about the
HS Drama program, meet new friends, and get a sneak preview of the DHS Fall
Festival of Plays!
Cost is only $5/person or $20 cap per family. Make it an easy dinner night, and
come learn more about the Drama program. Please RSVP by 10/5

Beginning Monday, October 2nd, in honor of national Breast Cancer Awareness
Month, Duxbury Football will be selling their 2017 edition
PINK SHIRT! These long sleeve pink shirts sell for $20 each and all proceeds will go to the
Beth Israel Deaconess Plymouth Cancer Center, keeping your donations
local. These shirts sell out every year - don't miss out! Shirts will be for sale
outside the Cafeteria before school and during all lunches. Cash or checks
accepted.

2017 Carnegie Commission Piece Fundraiser
The Duxbury Music Promoter Organization is honoring Director Ric
Madru's 35 years in Duxbury Schools by commissioning an original
composition to be performed at Carnegie Hall by the Duxbury Music
High School Ensemble Groups on February 8, 2018.
Please contribute to this honor by November 20.

Join us for Green Halloween on Friday October 20th with a breakfast club
and late pick up option. Our Green Halloween camp day will test participants
creativity, endurance and wackiness with jack-o-lantern inspired caramel apples,
outdoor relays, mental challenges and much more. Bring your bathing suit
and towel for Percy Walker fun. Pack your lunch or purchase Benchwarmers
