From the Principal

Dear Parents,

Everyone has settled into the school year. Miss

Bayley and Mrs Crittle have worked hard to en-

ing all of our routines and enjoying the begin-

ning of their school journey. Our Year 1-6

embarking on new units of work.

Thank you to those parents who attended our

information evening. Our staff are all very

excited about a great year of learning with your

children.

resources, work books and other initiatives that

support your child’s education and success at

school. Excursions will be a separate expense.

Excursion Fund

This year, due to new financial system, we are

able to offer 3 options when paying for excur-

sions and incidentals throughout the year.

1. Send in cash with your permission note

before due date of excursion

2. POP (Parent Online Payment) payment

before due date of excursion via ‘Payment’

“Fees in Advance” & amounts will be

deducted from this lump sum.

Please see Mrs Steele if you wish to take up

option 3.

Tamworth on Friday 22nd Feb. You can go to the

mation on sports and calendars. We have just

received our student times from Attunga and

send overdue books in as soon as possible so your

to another exciting year in the library! Thank you

kindly, Mrs Lee.

Bective Carnivals– Swimming &

Athletics

As part of the Winanga-Li Small Schools Alliance

(Attunga, Duri, Curra, Somerton & Woolomin) we

are refining our practises to collaborate and build

strong relationships between our schools. As we are

all small schools we have decided that the Bective

Carnivals, both swimming and athletics, will be our

school carnivals. The competition is amongst all of

the small schools in the alliance and places will be

awarded accordingly. This will alleviate the need for

a second prize giving ceremony at our schools.

This will not affect Zone qualifications as these are

based times and distances.

If you would like to discuss this further please see

the Principal.

School Facebook Page

Our school Facebook page is Duri PS. We will be

putting up information from time to time that

might assist you and also posting photos of our stu-

dents activities at school.

Music

Our music teacher from The Con, Manduway, has been selected to be part of a nationwide tour with a prestigious Dance Troup. Consequently, he will not be available to teach his Conservatorium students in weeks 4, 5 and 6. Samara Redman will be replacing him during his absence.

General Assistant

This week we farewell Brett as our GA. He has done

a great job for many years ensuring the Duri school

grounds are always looking their best. We wish

Brett all the best for the future.

We welcome Wayne who will be taking over to en-

sure our grounds continue to look beautiful.

School Banking

Just a reminder that school banking day is Tuesday.

If your child would like to begin banking through the

school please visit your local Commonwealth

Branch to set up an account.

Senior Excursion

We are currently working on costing for the Term 2

Senior Excursion to the Gold Coast/Brisbane. Dates:

Mon 3rd June—Friday 7th June. It will be discussed

at the P&C meeting this week and a note will be

out shortly.
