Most importantly, every Durecon piece reflects

Veneer Core, which provides matchless

grade “A” hardwood veneer that is both selected

and laid-up by hand to ensure a consistent, quality

facade. Premium stains and lacquers provide an

range of designs – from refined to contemporary to cutting-edge,

while maintaining the stylistic integrity of any library environment.

Durecon shelving design accommodates Starter-

and-Adder assembly, allowing configurations

to adapt to their environment’s growing and/or

changing needs. Nut and bolt hardware is

included with every piece to allow for easy lock

assembly.

PANELS

■ End, mid, top and bottom panels are 1” thick,

11-ply solid veneer core

■ Panels are veneered on both sides with grade

“A” select hardwood

■ Panel edges receive a 1/4” hardwood edge

■ Underside of top panel receives a 1 1/2” x 3/4”

thick valance (option)

■ End and mid panels are drilled with two

vertical rows of holes for shelf adjustment on

1 1/4” (32mm) centers; 3/16” diameter pin holes

are 3/4” deep

■ Base front of bottom panel is 4” high x 3/4”

thick 9-ply solid veneer core, routed at each end

to receive two 3 3/4” wide x 3/4” thick cleats

along the depth of the panel (a third cleat at the

base back buttresses the parallel cleats for added

support)

■ Panels are pre-drilled and fitted with threaded

inserts to accommodate threaded bolt, nut and

Beta Hardware assembly

■ All natural wood finished shelving includes

standard 1/4” matching printed backs

■ Durecon shelving also accommodates

coordinating end panels from Palmieri’s

extensive collection of library furnishings.

Custom end panel designs are also available.

SHELVING – WOOD

■ Adjustable shelves and adjustable picture book

shelves are 3/4” solid glued-up hardwood

■ Panel edges receive a 1/4” solid hardwood

edgeband

■ Shelves can accommodate weight loads of

45lbs/ft2 without deflection in excess of 3/32”

■ Underside of shelves are notched to

accommodate 3/16” diameter x 1 1/4” long,

threaded galvanized support pins

■ Adjustable picture book shelves feature five

routed slots, evenly spaced 5 5/8” apart, to

accommodate 1/4” thick black masonite

dividers (a 1/2” thick plywood back support is

also routed to receive dividers)

■ Periodical shelves are 3/4” veneer plywood,

banded along the facing edge with a 3/8” thick

x 2 1/2” wide lip rail (depth: 7/8”). These shelves

utilize slotted mounting plate and guiding

bracket hardware

■ Shelves are supplied at a standard width of

35 1/4”. Widths of 30” and 24” are also available

at an additional charge
