Day One - Arrive in South Africa We arrive in South Africa and spend the night in Johannesburg, the Commercial Capital of South Africa, enjoying a nights’ stay at The Michelangelo Hotel in a Deluxe Rooms in Sandton. Situated in the richest square mile of Africa, The Michelangelo is located on Nelson Mandela Square and provides easy access to fine dining and fantastic shops. On this evening, we will be hosted by Rovos Rail for an exclusive Ernie Els cheese and wine experience. An early check-in may be requested and full day tours of the area are available to choose from.

Day Two - Board the pride of Africa After checking out at the Michelangelo, a short, guided tour takes us through Pretoria, the Capital of South Africa. On this day we’ll be visiting the sights and sounds of the inner city, including the Union Buildings and Church Square, home to the Palace of Justice as well as the famous Paul Kruger Statue. We'll enjoy a lunch at the unique La Madeleine, one of Pretoria's most loved bistros with its unique French and Belgian style food. On arrival at the Rovos Rail train station, with their signature red carpet welcome, we’ll enjoy a guided site tour of the magnificent operation of the most luxurious train in the world, known as the Pride of Africa. The train will depart and head for Belfast, a small town to the east of Pretoria where we’ll stop for the night. All the rooms on the train are luxurious deluxe suites. The train is configured with spacious public cars including the Club Lounge, Observation Car and the Lounge. Reading material and board games are available with the premium bar being open at all times. A private luxury coach follows the train throughout our journey to take care of our transfers.

Day Four - Leopard Creek and the Kruger National Park Golfers will enjoy a game at Leopard Creek, home of the Dunhill Championship. The course is a unique Gary Player design with the 13th as the signature hole, overlooking the Crocodile River and the Kruger National Park. This course was ranked number 2 by Golf Digest in 2018. Non-golfers will embark on a full day private safari in the Kruger Park with a private lunch on the deck of Buhala Lodge. Re-join the Rovos Rail for dinner before heading to the intimate Mkhaya Game Reserve in Swaziland to capture the African Bush on foot.

Day Five - Lunch at Malandelas and Mkhaya Game Drive Mkhaya Game Reserve holds a unique history that began with the protection of indigenous Nguni cattle.The people of Swaziland have taken the vision of nurturing endangered species. With very stringent conservation security, Mkhaya is now home to Swaziland’s only buffalo, black rhino, sable antelope, Livingstone’s eland and tsessebe populations. Along with special species such as white rhino, giraffe and roan antelope, these animals are often seen at close range on safari excursions. Mkhaya is home to many exciting bird species for additional highlights. Guests will enjoy lunch at Malandelas serving “oxtail stew” as a signature dish.

Day Three - Highland Gate and Dullstroom Highland Gate is one of Ernie Els’ newest developments and is a magnificent course, as well as breathtaking in beauty. It’s the highest altitude course in Southern Africa and offers amazing views of the Steenkampsberg Mountain Range. The signature hole, number four, is one where the golfers will certainly lose a little bit of time to capture a few images. Our tee off time will be at a leisurely 10h30. The non-golfers will enjoy a relaxing morning exploring the lovely tranquil setting of Dullstroom, otherwise known as Emnotweni, meaning "Place of prosperity". This quaint town is filled with fine art, antique shops and the famous Anvil Ale Brewery. Dullstroom is also the fly fishing capital of South Africa and the Mavungana Fly Fishing guide will take you to the best fishing spots while the golfers battle it out on the course. Everyone will meet up after the golf for a lazy lunch after which we’ll depart on the train for a short journey to Malelane on the Eastern side of the Kruger National Park.

Day Seven - Golf at Champagne Resort and Horse Riding Champagne Resort is nestled in the great escarpment of the Drakensberg Mountains. These mountains reaches their highest peak of 3482 meters above sea-level and stretches for a staggering 1000 meters. One can explore these mountains from a birds-eye view while passing indigenous fauna of the lower and top areas on the back of a stallion horse. An experienced tour guide will share some inside stories about the Koi-San whom has left many paintings about their existence in the mountains. Golfers will get ready to play a sunken showpiece of the championship golf course, Champagne Golf Club. The clubhouse is smartly designed to view a beautiful scenery of 18 holes and towering mountains. There will be an opportunity for shopping before re-joining the train for a sunset dinner.

Day Six - Hluhluwe Game Reserve and Beachwood Country Club The Rovos Rail travels further south to Hluhluwe Game Reserve for an exciting 3 hour safari at this spectacular venue. An experienced game ranger will host all guest to encounter the north or south areas of Hluhluwe Game Reserve. Re-join the Rovos Rail and be treated to a coastal journey en-route to Durban where golfers get to play one of the finest designed championship golf courses in South Africa, Durban Beachwood Country Club. It was ranked number 5 for Top 100 golf courses in South Africa by Golf Digest in 2018. Non-golfers will enjoy a city tour before lunch with golfers at Beachwood Country Club. Return to the train for dinner while en-route to the Great Escarpment of South Africa.

Day Twelve - Luxury bus transfer ending a South African adventure Full English breakfast to enjoy before your bucket list is ticked off! From spectacular golf courses, big 5 game up close and personal, the luxury Rovos Rail train experience, South African cuisine, award-winning wine and the World Famous Nelson Mandela Square with your loved ones! A luxury bus takes you to OR Tambo International Airport for check-in and departure.

Day Nine - Sun City Resort Sun City is a special destination. It is a five star establishment creating its own city within the Pilanesberg Game Reserve. Experience the lavish opulence of the Palace that holds private luxury comfort where guests will be staying for 3 nights. From artificial waves, game drives , bird watching, crocodile feeding and water sports to only name a few activities to activate your inner child. The acclaimed Sun City Extravaganza takes place every evening with an afternoon performance. Be wowed with this live show! Guests can also visit the Harlequins Casino in the Sun City Hotel. Alternatively, relax and enjoy a cocktail or sumptuous meal at a wide variety of restaurants from seafood , sushi, grills and fine dining.

Day Ten - Kwena Gardens Crocodile Sanctuary and golf at The Lost City All guests will embark to Kwena Crocodile Sanctuary, home to two of the biggest captive crocodiles in the world and 300 Nile crocodiles located close to the entrance at Sun City offers an exhilarating event that takes place, superb for big groups. Lunch will be served at Crocodile Lounge overlooking the championship golf course of The Lost City. Golfers will be treated to a round of golf on this testing 18 -hole showpiece. There will be a variety of restaurants to choose from for a scrumptious dinner on your own account.

Day Eleven - Golf at Gary Player Country Club and Safari Gary Player Country Club is home of the annual Nedbank Golf Challenge, also known as Africa’s major. Golfers might get lucky to view wild animals passing the course on a daily basis. Non-golfers will enjoy an aerial view zip-lining from the top of a mountain. All guest will have open access to the Valley of the Waves throughout their stay. All guest will embark on an afternoon sunset safari to have their final photo’s taken. Dinner on your own account.

Day Eight - Depart Ladysmith for the day at leisure on the Rovos Rail On this day guests will stay on-board the Rovos Rail for the en-route journey to Sun City Resort. The observation car at the rear of the train have open-air balconies and enabling large windows for great viewing. The Club Car is a popular spot for the convenience of a cigar lounge. An enthusiastic team of chefs will prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner while the train is underway. The Premier Bar will be open at all times. Arrive at journeys end and disembark the Rovos Rail for Sun City Resort.
