    Fire Resistant Ductwork in the

    Industry

    July 2010

At over 3 times largerthan any other currentcULus listed fire resistant system in the industry,

DuraSystems DuraDuct is the system you can trust.DuraDuct is also the only ISO 6944 tested and listed

2-Hour fire resistant ventilation duct that does not

    require any additional wraps or enclosure materials;

it is truly a single source solution. This robust,

moisture, fire and impact resistant system is factory

built and pre-assembled for quick and easy

    installation.

The DuraDuct system provides unmatched structural

integrity due to the use of DuraSteel, a unique non-

combustible composite material utilizing a fibercement core. DuraDuct boasts the slimmest fire

resistant duct design and is just over thicker than

standard SMACNA ductwork. It is a problem solver in

    many ways.

DuraDuct is also a problem solver in tight ceiling

spaces and mechanical rooms due its slim profile and

impact resistant design. The DuraDuct System will

eliminate the common problem of damaged external

wrap or enclosure systems where multiple trades

must work together in close proximity.

DuraDuct is ideal for exposed ventilation systems in

parking garages where damage can be caused by

other trades during construction, moisture, or

vehicles once construction is completed to gypsum

    enclosures or externally wrapped systems.

The DuraDuct fire resistant duct systems provide the

added mechanical protection in these areas required

    by the IMC code.

The DuraDuct system now comes in three different

    2-hour cULus rated models:

DuraDuct HP: cULus listing V-15 DuraDuct SD: cULus listing V-25 DuraDuct GNX: cULus listing V-28In addition to a 2-hour UL fire resistance rating,

DuraDuct is also blast resistant. DuraDuct HP and SD

have been independently blast tested for up to 2 bar

or 29psi overpressure. This unique feature highlights

the impact resistance and durability of the system.

The HP and SD are ideal for use where high levels of

security or added protection is required for these

    fire resistant life safety systems.

DuraDuct GNX is the latest DuraSystems 2-hour

design, it is the lightest DuraDuct system offered.

The GNX is assembled by a matching proprietary

flange system familiar to installing contractors and

can be hung using a Unistrut cradle.

    Award Winning Design

DuraDuct was recognized as the WINNER in the

Ventilation Category of the 2010 AHR Expo

Innovation Awards Competition on behalf of the

AHR Expo and its co-sponsors, ASHRAE and AHRI. A

panel of Industry Professionals, selected for their

knowledge and expertise in HVACR, found the

unique DuraDuct product to be worthy of this honor.

DuraDuct is the most durable and versatile Fire

    Resistant ventilation duct system available.
