DuPont GENENCARE™ OSMS BA is a natural choice to manage the right-moisture balance in skin cells. It is a highly versatile osmoprotectant that occurs naturally in skin and hair, protecting them from environmental stress. DuPont Tate & Lyle Zemea® propanediol is the fi rst 100% natural glycol alternative approved by Ecocert™ and certifi ed by the Natural Products Association (NPA). Made from corn sugar, Zemea® offers formulators many skin-friendly benefi ts such as no irritation or sensitization, enhanced moisturization, and excellent sensorial characteristics. Used as an humectant, emollient or natural solvent, Zemea® can be easily incorporated in formulations containing petroleum-based propylene glycol, butylene glycol or glycerin. It has been commercialized in over 1000 natural and organic cosmetic and personal care formulations around the world. DuPont™ Xivia™ Sustainable Xylitol

DuPont™ Xivia™ is the sustainable choice for use in cosmetics. Derived from hardwood, a sustainable, non-food chain source, Xivia™ exhibits a very low carbon footprint and is the most sustainable Xylitol on the market. With excellent humectant properties Xivia™ can be used in most cosmetic applications to provide long-term moisture retention. Xivia™ also exhibits anti-bacterial benefi ts. In fact the oral hygiene benefi ts of Xivia™ have been well recognised for many decades, and it is common to fi nd Xylitol as an ingredient in toothpaste and mouthwash. These anti-bacterial properties can also be seen with some skin bacteria, which provides a dual role for Xivia™ in many skin creams.

This new generation of materials, derived from biomass instead of petroleum, reduces the environmental footprint without compromising performance. The versatile offering includes several families of Sorona® EP PTT renewably sourced polyester, Hytrel® RS renewably sourced thermoplastic polyester elastomer, and Zytel® RS Renewably sourced long chain polyamide products.

DuPont™ Crastin® PBT thermoplastic polyester delivers stiffness, toughness, heat resistance, friction and wear resistance, excellent surface fi nishes and good colorability coupled with zero formaldehyde emission. Crastin® shows good fl ow properties leading to short cycle times using standard injection molding machines.

Renewably-sourced polyester

DuPont™ Sorona® EP thermoplastic polymers contains 20% to 37% renewably sourced materials (by weight) that helps high-end packaging reduce its environmental footprint with no compromise on aesthetics and performance requirements with properties similar to high-performance Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT) polyester.

Surlyn® 3D is a DuPont patented overmolding technology to bring more luxury to cosmetic containers - D’s standing for “Design Freedom”, “Decoration Possibilities” and “Depth Effects”.
