Q-Max is the largest type of LNG tanker in the world. Less than a year after its commercial start-up, the reception of this sea-giant is an important milestone for Dunkerque LNG’s team. The jetty of the terminal was designed to receive up to the largest LNG carriers in the world and the staff trained to carry on the unloading operations for such LNG tankers. “The arrival of Rasgas’ Qmax Al Dafna at the Dunkirk regasification terminal has been an opportunity for Dunkerque LNG and its subsidiary Gaz-Opale to confirm its know-how and expertise”, declared Béatrice Prud’homme, President of Dunkerque LNG. Measuring 345 m long and 54 m wide, Q-Max can carry on until 266 000 m 3 of liquefied natural gas (LNG). There are only 14 LNG tankers of this type in the world and all are dedicated to Qatar’s deliveries. Dunkerque LNG SAS, owner and operator of the LNG terminal in Dunkirk, is a subsidiary of EDF (65%), Fluxys (25%), and Total (10%). Commissioned on January 1, 2017, the terminal has a regasification capacity of 13 billion cubic meters per year, or 20% of annual French and Belgian natural gas consumption, making it the second-largest LNG terminal in continental Europe. It is also the only one to be linked to two markets, France and Belgium. Gaz-Opale, a subsidiary of Dunkerque LNG (51%) and Fluxys (49%), operates the terminal. www.dunkerquelng.com PRESS RELEASE 20 november 2017 Only print this message if absolutely necessary Dunkerque LNG SAS Terminal méthanier de Dunkerque Centre tertiaire des Trois Ponts 30, rue l’Hermitte 59140 Dunkerque www.dunkerquelng.com PRESS CONTACT Dunkerque LNG Press: 03 28 51 87 66 – 06 99 57 39 50
