Be positive! Show belief in his/her abilities and agree realistic targets for success in each subject.

Be a part of his/her journey through school. Know the key dates and key events. Talk regularly and meaningfully with your child. Keep tabs on how he/she is spending his/her time.

Avoid the temptation to nag! Be supportive in any way you can: help, advice, finding time for him/her to work, helping to create an environment at home that is conducive to effective study.
