Enter your text. Text will word-wrap. Adjust the window to the size you like. You can even pull the right side over so that your text does not hit alower-right bug!

**When opening a crawl window, adjust its width with consideration of the Safe Titlearea. This will determine how much of the text is visible and how much of the screen'swidth it occupies. The Safe Title area serves as a guide for placing crawls in thetraditional lower-third position.

When you're done typing, scroll down until the last line of text moved up and out of theroll window. This way, your roll will start Offscreen. You can also use the insert row keyon the keyboard.

You can choose a solid color from the palette area. The arrows will give you even moreoptions. Click the apply and then the OK buttons to apply the color to your crawlwindow. The color will only be in the crawl window, so make the window the correct sizefor the application.

The ramp/gradient section of the dialog box contains a color square surrounded by fourcolor anchors. The color assigned to each color anchor influences the color ramp byaffecting only the section of the square near the anchor. To change the color of ananchor, you must be in ramp mode. Simply move the mouse cursor to the anchor andclick the left mouse button. This will assign the current Solid Color selected to theanchor and automatically update the color ramp. Right click an anchor and choose "tie tobuddy" to tie anchors together. Having the top two anchors as one color and the bottomtwo as another will make a graduated background.

When you save your roll or crawl, the background information will be saved to the pageas well.
