Why we chose Duet Enterprise
• SAP worked well for our complex purchasing &
purchasing approval environment and we wanted to
protect that investment.
• SharePoint was already widely embraced as our
Corporate intranet.
• Needed to enable our occasional SAP users to
perform simple “SAP” transactions without training
and while on the road.
• We wanted to consolidate the various applications
requiring electronic approvals.
• We were not ready to commit to a mobile device
strategy, but we were embracing “Bring Your Own
Device (BYOD).

Short-term goals of Duet Enterprise
• Allow “non-SAP” members of the senior and
executive management team to review and approve
Purchase Orders via a mobile-enabled and simplified
interface
• Create a simplified Purchase Order creation form for
non-stock purchase orders.
• Provide the ability for GTAT management to run
reports in SAP from our Corporate Intranet portal

Best Practices and Lessons learned
• Duet Enterprise implementation, hardware and
software requirements more complex than
anticipated.
• SharePoint needs to be running Version 2010;
upgrade somewhat involved.
• SharePoint introduces latency that previously didn’t
exist natively in SAP.

Future plans for Duet
• Master Data Management – Provide simplified forms
for requesting and approving Master Data Changes
in SAP via SharePoint
– New Vendor Requests
– New Customer Requests
• Expand SharePoint capabilities to have a
consolidated “My Approvals” portal, where Purchase
Orders, Sales Orders, Contract Amendments, Travel
Requests, Vacation Request, etc. are all consolidated
on a single portal page.
