Dudley’s “Natural Hair” Seminar educates and empowers the community
Louisville, KY | August 4, 2012, 2012 – A recent article titled “Hair in the Black Community: Roots of a Debate”, goes on to state… African Americans have diverse, deeply held opinions about their hair and what to do with it. Dudley’s “Natural Hair” seminar will provide a viable education for local cosmetologists, barbers and salon owners, as it relates to the proper care and maintenance of “natural” hair. Hair Trends, Product Knowledge, and Styling Tips will be among some of the topics covered at the seminar. Independent Dudley Distributor, Tami Charles, will host the event on August 27th, 2012 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Hotel Louisville, 120 West Broadway. In keeping with the spirit of giving back to the community, Dudley Products Louisville will also sponsor a pre-seminar community event on August 26th from 3 p.m. to 6pm. This event will be held at the Millers Lane Flea Market, 2401 Millers Lane. The pre-seminar event is free and open to the public. Meeting The Needs of The Community Dudley Products is a African American owned business that was founded in 1967 by Joe L. Dudley Sr. and Eunice Mosley Dudley. At its inception, Dudley products built a quality product specifically designed for hair of African descent. This task meant that all things that were culturally and genetically typical had to be taken into account for excellence. Hypertension, obesity, diabetes, alcoholism and street drugs is prevalent among Americans of African descent. This statement is as true today, as it was in 1967, when the Dudley’s created products that included essential oils and botanicals to provide quality hair care for the community. The Dudley’s had a quality product made with natural ingredients to meet the need of the community Subsequently, they moved to building entrepreneurs and responding to the call of economic development in the community.
