Introduction•Ideas for the DTN assignments:• The first idea is focused around a retail service to the general public. •The second idea was to do with local weather in Nottinghamshire area.•The third idea is money saving tips.

Rob’s record mart• Situated in Hurts yard Nottingham City Centre,

Rob’s record mart is the oldest Nottingham record store, been open for four decades!

• Sells vintage vinyl records from 1980 till present. Later years it expanded selling cd’s, videos etc.

• All genres are available in good condition and very affordable price.

Caves • City of caves •Top visitors attraction in Nottingham, it is made out of sandstone that have been used variously over the years as tannery, public house cellars, and as an air raid shelter. Now its used for educational visits, tours etc. • Nottingham Castle•Within the city Centre you can also visit Mortimer’s Hole which is beneath Nottingham Castle – there’s a labyrinth of manmade caves and tunnels.

Weather• BBC radio East Midlands today have been informing

the drastic weather change over the winter season. • It was Nottingham's biggest freeze this winter as the

weather drastically changed to -6 degrees. • Dozen people have been hurt with fractures went to

the accident and emergency department. • It led to travel chaos with Nottingham City Transport

cancelling. • Nottingham City Council should provide gritters for

the public and road safety.• Will it affect public transport? • Pervious extreme weathers like floods, etc.

Weather – cont. • What is it?The drastic weather change has affected many people in Nottinghamshire and had to close schools, offices, etc.• It’s relevant because useful information such as what to

do, transportation information if the buses or trams are running, etc due to bad weather will provide to the public.

• What we will intend to produce is offer information to the general public. Might ask questions if the weather affected them if so how and why?

• How long/specifications? Will be discussed• Who will be involved? 6, the group. • Costs? Will be discussed.

Money savings tips• As food prices are getting expensive it is best to advise the public on

how to save up and keep their savings in to more productive areas.• Either do a 5 minute tip VT or how to make a meal worth £5 or less.• The tips will include:• Keep leftovers•This can work for example buy the 3 pack, cook it all, and save one piece for lunch the next day.• Buy it in bulk•Buying in bulk is almost always cheaper than buying small portions.• Buy store brands•Not only are store brand goods almost cheaper, but often they contain the very same food as a label brand. It is not worth to buy paying twice the price if the food are all the same.• Make a meal Worth £5 will include other brands and compare them which is cheaper and how much money you will save.

• Due to the soaring food prices it will be helpful to offer information to the general public in Nottinghamshire on how to save money. It will be relevant for all ages students to elderly people.

• What we will intend to produce a VT on these information, will compare supermarket prices and maybe ask questions to the public example

• How much do you spend on food shopping?• Where do you shop? And ask them if they save.• Costs? Will be discussed.
