The DTIM 2014 conference offered a platform where 18 leading companies gave insights and examples on technology trends and future-research, strategies, processes and effective innovation-management. All based on the early identification of disruptive technologies and integration of radical developments. Over 150 attendees have used the conference actively and discussed contemporary challenges, ideas and progresses. Our World Café and Challenge Your Peers roundtable sessions offered an interactive platform for network-growth and for getting questions on industry-related subjects answered.

The Icebreaker Session invited to take part in an information rich get to know
each other and relaxed networking at the evening prior to the first conference
day.

Thomas Andrae discussed at his World Café Session, Open Innovation 2.0 & the targeted
development of new business-models. From coincidence to strategic routine, corporate venturing as a key to strategic company-
cooperation and the definition of new business
areas based on innovative start-up ideas.
CASE STUDY · Dr. Kai Grassie, Giesecke & Devrient GmbH
Dr. Kai Grassie spoke to the audience about
innovation in the field of disruptive technologies, by
referring to examples from the field of mobile
security, and gave insights on complex
ecosystems, technology innovation, business-
model innovation and Smartcards to mobile
security.

Dr. Georg Oenbrink presented future-compatible
innovation-management and the approaches, methods and
experiences at Evonik Industries. Hereby he focused on the
themes: open innovation, technology scouting and industry
development-cooperation, as well as crowd-sourcing and
social media based innovation of the Evonik Call for
research proposal. All of the topics reflected experiences
and results from the company based knowledge-pool.
