Rely on the DTSA or the DTS ElectronicDigital Theodolite to wrap up yourcontracting or surveying job in lesstime than conventional theodolites and

transits-large, straightforwarddisplays replace micrometers andverniers.

Measure horizontal and vertical angles andin less than one second, readings are dis-played on the DT5A to 10" via a two-line,LCD display. On the DT5, the two-line LCDdisplay provides readings to 5". The DT5Afeatures a single display and four functionkeys on the front of the instrument face foradded convenience; on the DT5, dual dis-plays and four function keys are located oneach instrument face for added flexibility.Both models have built-in reticle and displayillumination that speed operation in low-lightsituations.

Percentage of slope and vertical anglereadings are displayed alternately by push-ing the percentage key, a useful feature forgrading earthwork and pipelines.

Horizontal angles are read clockwise orcounterclockwise and locked with the Hold/Release key. The horizontal circle can be setto zero with the touch of one key. A trans-parent, sliding key cover prevents accidentalresetting of horizontal angles. When thetelescope is moved past 90 degrees fromzenith, the vertical circle is automaticallyindexed.

A built-in optical plummet eliminates needfor a plumb bob. Dual plate levels aredesigned for accurate leveling. The telescopeis easily set to horizontal by adjusting theupper display to 90°. The handle is remov-able for viewing overhead objects (optionaldiagonal eyepiece may be required). Adetachable base (tribrach) can be used tomount other instruments.
