How to Setup EWAN for NBN connections

Step 1. Open your Internet Browser and in the URL field type in http://192.168.1.1.

Step 2. Type in the default Username and Password then click on the Log In button. These values are provided below:

1. ACCESSING THE WEB UI

To access the Web UI of the DSL-2750B, connect your computer to the DSL-2750B using theEthernet cable provided. Then connect the power cable to the DSL-2750B. The power light willdisplay as solid green.Then simply open a browser window and enter the IP address in the browser address field:

SETUP > WIZARD

Click on the Setup Wizard button to start the wizard, below we will go through the required settings to setup a PPPoE connection.

Click on Next to start the Setup Wizard.

It is recommended to setup a new password for your DSL-2750B. Please enter the current password"admin" and then enter a new password below. Once you have entered your new passwords click onNext.

Cont...It is recommended to configure the Time Settings to synchronize with the Internet Time Servers.

Once you have selected these two entries, you will notice the majority of the fields are completed for you. Lastly enter your Usernameand Passwords that have been provided by your ISP. Click on Next when you have entered yourinformation.

If you wish to use Wireless on your router you will now be able to configure it below. It isrecommended to change the Wireless Network Name and also use WPA2-PSK for security.Once you have made the required changes click on Next.

Please review the details to ensure they are correct. Click on Apply to make the changes effective immediately.

You should now have an active Internet Connection.

3. SETUP PPPoA CONNECTIONPPP over ATM (New Zealand)

SETUP > WIZARD

Click on the Setup Wizard button to start the wizard, below we will go through the required settings to setup a PPPoA connection.


It is recommeded to setup a new password for your DSL-2750B. Please enter the current password"admin" and then enter a new password below. Once you have entered your new passwords click onNext.

4. SETUP BRIDGE MODE

BRIDGE MODE (Modem Only Mode)

SETUP > WIZARD

Click on the Setup Wizard button to start the wizard, below we will go through the required settings to setup a Bridge Mode connection.

Cont...It is not required to configure the Time Settings while in Bridge Mode, please click Next.

In this example we will be configuring the Internet connection as Bridge Mode. This is mostly used in Australia. Ensure the WAN Services type is set as DSL. Select the Country Australia from the list,then the Internet Service Provider (ISP) as Others. Then Change the Protocol to Bridge and enterthe VPI as 8 and the VPI as 35. Once you have completed this click on Next.

Since we are not using the Routing features of the DSL-2750B the Wireless LAN feature is notrequired for Bridge Mode. Please uncheck the Enable Your Wireless Network checkbox and clickon Next.


Your DSL-2750B is now configured in Bridge Mode. You can now connect this device to your existing Router and use PPPoE on the existing Router's WAN/Internet connection settings to connect to theInternet.

5. SETUP ETHERNET WAN MODE

SETUP > WIZARD

Click on the Setup Wizard button to start the wizard, below we will go through the required settings to setup a Ethernet WAN connection.

ETHERNET WAN (NBN / UFB Customers)

Cont...It is recommended to configure the Time Settings to synchronize with the Internet Time Servers.

Please enable the check box and select your Time Zone, then click Next.

In this example we will be configuring the Internet connection for an Ethernet WAN which is the mostcommon for NBN / UFB customers.

Ensure the WAN Services type is set as ETH WAN. Select the required Protocol from the list. In this example we will use Dynamic IP but your Internet Service Provider (ISP) may use a differentprotocol. Please ensure you select the appropriate Protocol as instructed by the ISP then click Next.


Connect the Ethernet cable that comes from the Network Termination Device (NTD) in your homethat was installed by the ISP to LAN Port 4 on the DSL-2750B.You should now have an active Internet Connection.

How to access the Configuration Pages (Web GUI) of my modem

Please note: Accessing your modem’s configuration pages does not require Internet connection as these pages are stored inside your modem. Your computer just needs to be connected to the modem.

1. Open your Internet browser e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc. and enter the IP address of your D-Link modem in the address bar: http://192.168.1.1

2. When prompted type in the Username and Password then click on the “Log In” button. If you have not changed the password for the modem administration, the factory settings are: Username: admin Password: admin

Troubleshooting

Below are the troubleshooting steps to follow if you are not able to access the configuration page of your modem via its default address http://192.168.1.1.

If step 1 does not help, then try step 2 and so on until the problem is resolved.

Step 1. Access the modem’s configuration page.

Accessing your modem’s configuration pages does not require Internet connection as these pages are stored inside your modem. Your computer just needs to be connected to the modem. First try connecting your computer to the modem using a network cable. Open your Internet browser e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc. and enter the IP address of your D-Link modem in the address bar: http://192.168.1.1.

This should open the login page for your modem’s configuration pages. Use the instructions provided with your product to login and complete the configuration.

Step 2. Check connectivity. Verify physical connectivity by checking for solid link light on the Ethernet (LAN) port of the modem. If you do not get a solid link light, try using a different cable or connect to a different LAN port on the device if possible. If the computer is turned off, the link light may not be on. Recycle the power on the modem. To do that, switch the power off. Wait 30 seconds. Switch the power on and wait for the lights to stabilize. Restart the computer. After your computer restarts check the link light on the modem’s Ethernet (LAN) port.

Step 3. Check your Internet Browser settings. Make sure your Internet browser is not set to use a proxy server. In Internet Explorer you can check this by going to Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings.

Try accessing your modem with “Automatically detect settings” option disabled. Close all your browser windows and re-open it after changing the settings.

Step 4. Check Network Adapter settings (For Windows Only). If you are using Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8 - Please go to Control Panel >Network and Internet > Network Connections... Make sure that your Local Area Connection is enabled and not bridged with any other connection. If you see any icon there which is called “Bridge” - delete it. If you see your Local Area Connection marked as Bridged - right-click and select Remove from Bridge.

Step 5. Set your computer with static IP address. Windows XP: Control Panel > Network Connections > Local Area Connection > Properties > Internet protocol TCP/IP > Properties... Windows Vista: Control Panel > Network and Internet > [Network and Sharing Centre] > View Network Status and Tasks > View Status > Properties > Internet Protocol v4 > Properties... Windows 7 and 8: Control Panel > Network and Internet > [Network and Sharing Centre] > Click on [Change adapter settings] on the left hand side menu. Right click on [Local Area Connection] > [Properties] > [Internet Protocol Version 4] > [Properties] Select the "Use the following IP address" option: IP address: 192.168.1.99 Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1 (your modem's address) DNS: 192.168.1.1 and 61.88.88.88 (or whichever your provider is using). Click on OK.

Step 6. Factory reset the modem. While the modem is powered on - press and hold the reset button for 10 sec. Release the button and wait until the modem boots up (1 min). Please NOTE: the factory reset will change all the modem’s settings back to factory defaults, which means all the changes you applied to the modem will be reverted (including passwords). Please have your Internet Provider’s login details (your Username and Password) with you, which you will need to re-enter into the modem’s Internet Settings field.

Step 7. Configure your Internet settings. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel. Double click the Internet Options Icon. From the Security tab, click the button to restore the settings to their defaults. Click to the Connection tab and set the dial-up option to Never Dial a Connection. Click the LAN Settings button. Nothing should be checked. Click OK. Go to the Advanced tab and click the button to restore these settings to their defaults. Click OK out to the desktop and close any open windows.

Step 8. Disable any Internet security software running on the computer. Software firewalls like Zone Alarm, Black Ice, Sygate, Norton Personal Firewall, etc. may block access to the configuration pages of your modem. Check the help files included with your firewall software for more information on disabling or configuring it.

Below is an example screenshot of firewall software configuration options.

Step 9. Try to access the router using a different Internet Browser. Open an alternative Internet browser e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc. and enter the IP address of your D-Link modem in the address bar: http://192.168.1.1. Try these options in the address bar of your Internet Browser: 192.168.1.1 http://192.168.1.1 http://192.168.1.1:88

Step 10: Try accessing the modem from a different computer.

How to change ADSL Username and Password Step 1. Open your Internet Browser and in the address field type in http://192.168.1.1.

Step 2. When prompted type in the Username and Password then click on the “Log In” button. If you have not changed the password for the modem administration, the factory settings are:


Step 3. After logging in you will be presented with the modem’s configuration pages. Please click on [Internet Setup], and then click on [Wan service] button:

Now follow these steps to restart the modem and verify connection to your Internet Provider.

How to Change Wireless Channel in your modem/router

Step 1. Open your Internet Browser and in the address field type in http://192.168.1.1.



Step 3. After logging in you will be presented with the modem’s configuration pages. Please click on Setup > Wireless Settings > Manual Wireless Connection Setup button:

Step 4. In the first section of the page [WIRELESS NETWORK SETTINGS], please find the “Wireless Channel” option. Click on the drop down menu to select a channel number between 1 to 13.

PLEASE MAKE SURE CLICK ON [Apply Settings] BUTTON AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE TO SAVE THE SETTINGS.

Installation Guide using CD ROM for DSL modem routers DSL-2740B (Rev F1) and DSL-2750B (Rev B1)

Configuring your modem using the supplied Setup Disk

1. Insert the CD into your computer and the install wizard should start automatically. Click on [START] button

If the Install wizard does not start up automatically, you can start it up manually by double clicking on the DSL-2740B.exe file in the CD-ROM Drive

2. Select [First Installation] and click on [NEXT] button.

3. Follow the instructions to switch on the modem and click on [NEXT] button.

4. Connect the modem to your computer via an Ethernet cable and click on [NEXT] button.

5. Connect the DSL line (phone line which has ADSL service enabled) to your modem and click on [NEXT] button.

6. Create a Password for your modem and click on [NEXT] button.

7. Select your internet Service Provider details and click on the [NEXT] button.

8. Enter your account’s Username and Password (given to you by your Internet Service Provider) then click on [NEXT] button.

9. Wait for the Wizard to apply the settings into the modem.

10. Wait for the Wizard to verify the Internet connection status.

11. Enter a desired Wireless Network Name for your Wireless Network.

12. Choose the type of wireless security you would like for the wireless network then click on [NEXT] button. It is recommended to choose WPA 2 for the highest security level.

13. Type in a desired Wireless Security Password then click on [NEXT] button.

14. Wait for the wizard to save and apply the wireless settings into your modem.

15. The wizard offers you to save the settings you have just applied to your modem onto your desktop as a text file. Click on [NEXT] button

16. You may now click on [START BROWSING] button to check your Internet Connection Status then click on [NEXT] button.

17. The Setup Wizard will show you an additional guide on how to join the configured wireless network.

How to Enable/Disable Wireless in your modem/router




Step 3. After logging in you will be presented with the modem’s configuration pages. Please click on Setup > Wireless Settings > Manual Wireless Connection Setup button:

Step 4. Tick or un-tick the [Enable Wireless] box to change Wi-Fi ON/OFF status.

How to Enable Remote management in your modem router




Step 3. After logging in you will be presented with the modem’s configuration pages. Please click on [MAINTENANCE] > [Access Controls] > [Services].

Step 4. Tick [Enable] box under WAN for HTTP Service, and record down the [Remote WAN Port] number. Then click on the [Apply] button to save the settings.

Step 5. You may click on [STATUS] > [Device Info] to find out your Public IP Address. In this example it is 165.228.178.7

Step 6. The modem can be remotely accessed now from the Internet via its Public IP Address. To access the modem on a remote PC you need to enter “http://165.228.178.7:80“ in the address bar.

Please note: Many Internet Providers block access to port 80 (the default Remote WAN Port). If using port 80 as your Remote WAN Port does not allow remote computers to connect to your router, please use a different port number (for example 8888 or 8080). Specify these numbers as your Remote WAN Port as described in Step 4.

To access the modem remotely you would need to type in the complete address: IP address with the new port number separated by a semicolon. For example:

http://165.228.178.7:8888 http://165.228.178.7:8080

How to Setup Parental Control in your modem router




Step 3. After logging in you will be presented with the modem’s configuration pages. Please click on [ADVANCED] > [Schedules] and click on [Add] button:

Step 4. Enter the Name and select the desired time and days for your Schedule. Click on Apply to save your Schedule.

Step 5. Click on [Parental Control] > [Block Website]

Step 6. Enter a Specific URL or a Keyword (for example “facebook”) and select the Schedule you created earlier. Click on the [Apply] button to save the settings.

You can create multiple entries with different schedules.

How to setup Time and Date in your modem/router




Step 3. After logging in you will be presented with the modem’s configuration pages. Click on [SETUP] > [Time and Date]

Step 4. Tick [Automatically synchronize with Internet time servers] box under TIME SETTINGS section

Step 5. Click on the drop down menu for Time Zone and select your region, for example (GMT+10:00) Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney and select Enable Daylight Saving if it applies to your region.

Step 6. Click on the [Apply] button at the bottom of the page to save your settings.

NOTE: DHCP Reservation is commonly used when a user utilizes their PC on other networks and not only their home network. Reserving an IP for a specific MAC Address will assist the user to obtain the same IP address from the router rather than configuring a manual IP address on their network adapter.

Step 1. Log in to the modem with the computer connected to the modem via Ethernet. - URL: http://192.168.1.1 (default) - Username: admin - Password: admin (default)

Step 2. Select the LOCAL NETWORK button from the left menu.

Step 3. Select the ADD button under the DHCP Reservation List section.

Step 4. If you would like to reserve an IP for the PC you are currently using, click COPY YOUR PC’S MAC ADDRESS.

Step 5. Enter an IP Address you would like to reserve for the PC e.g. 192.168.1.200

Step 6. Click APPLY to save the changes.

Step 7. To renew the IP Address on the computer, click on the START menu and type cmd in ‘Start Search’.

Step 8. Right click the cmd icon that appears in the search results above and select Run as administrator.

NOTE: It is recommended that your PC is configured with a Static IP when using Port Forwarding.

Step 1. Log in to the modem with the computer connected to the modem via Ethernet.

Step 3. Select PORT FORWARDING in the left menu.

Step 4. Click ADD to create a new port forwarding rule. In this guide, a rule for Remote Desktop is created.

Step 5. The DSL-2730B allows you to select a preset rule or create a manual rule.

- Select a Service: these are presets included in the unit’s configuration. - Server Name: this option allows you to create a manual port forward rule if no preset for your service exists e.g. Remote Desktop

Step 6. Select the Server Name option to create your own rule.

Step 7. Enter a name for the Server Name e.g. RDP-MyPC used in this example (RDP = Remote Desktop).

Step 8. If you would like the rule to always be active, leave the Schedule as ALWAYS. You may also create a schedule by clicking ‘View Available Schedules’

Step 9. Enter the IP Address of the system running the Remote Desktop service. The system in this configuration was set with a Static IP – 192.168.1.3

- External Port Start: 3389 - External Port End: 3389 - Protocol: TCP - Internet Port Start: 3389

Step 10. Click APPLY to save and activate the rule created.

- To check whether the port is successfully forwarded, go to www.canyouseeme.org and enter the ‘external port’ used in your port forwarding rule and click Submit. It will return with a Success or Error message.

Step 1. Log in to the modem with the computer connected to the modem via Ethernet. - URL: http://192.168.1.1 (default) - Username: admin - Password: admin (default)

Step 2. Select the ADVANCED button in the top menu.

Step 3. Select PARENTAL CONTROL in the left menu, followed by the Block Mac Address button.

Step 4. Click ADD to create a new rule.

Step 5. Enter a name (User Name) for the rule e.g. Kids-PC

- Select Current PC’s MAC Address if you wish to create the rule for the PC you are currently working from.

- Select Other MAC Address to create the rule for another computer on the network such as e.g. the Kids PC.

- Enter the MAC Address in the correct format for the Kids PC (xx:xx:xx:xx:xx)

- Select Manual Schedule to create a new schedule to block the computer from accessing the internet at specific times or select the pre-configured Schedule Rule (Always) if you wish to block the PC constantly.

Step 6. Once all information is set, click on APPLY to save the changes.

IPTV Setup on DSL-2740B/DSL-2750B IPTV is a multimedia service (television/video/audio....) delivered to you over IP basednetworks. This guide will assume you already have an active connection to the Internet. If you don'thave Internet connectivity please run the included Setup CD-ROM or manually via theWeb Configuration to first establish a connection to the Internet.

Step 1. Login to the Web Configuration of your DSL-2740B/DSL-2750B. By default the IP address ishttp://192.168.1.1.

Step 2. Login with your admin username and password when prompted.

Step 3. Click on SETUP > Internet Setup > ATM. Click on the 'Add' button:

Step 4. For the ATM PVC Configuration select the following:* VPI: 0* VCI: 35* Select DSL Link Type: EoA* Select Connection Mode: MSC Mode - Multiple Service over one Connection.

Step 5. Your ADSL INTERFACE CONFIGURATION should look similar to the below illustration:

Step 6. Click on SETUP > INTERNET SETUP > WAN SERVICE and click on the 'Edit' button:
