There are two types of bedwetting:

Secondary
Primary Bedwetting:
A child with primary bedwetting has never been dry at night for any significant length of
time, it generally refers to a process of bedwetting that keeps continuing since early
childhood without a break.
The Child fails to recognize that his/her bladder is full and does not awaken during sleep to
urinate into the toilet.
Secondary Bedwetting:
The child will experience dryness at night for a significant period of time (at least six
months), then this period of dryness for a short duration is termed as secondary
bedwetting.
Common Causes of Bedwetting Includes:
Urinary tract infection:
The bladed infection may lead to lower
abdominal pain or irritation with
urination, a stronger urge to urinate, and
frequent urination, Urinary tract infection
in children also indicates anatomical
abnormality.
Diabetes:
People with type I diabetes generally have a
high level of sugar in their blood and the body
outputs urine more and more due to
excessive blood glucose levels. Frequent
urination is a common symptom of diabetes
Structural or anatomical abnormality:
An abnormality in the organs, muscles, or nerves involved in urination can cause
incontinence or other urinary problems that could show up as bedwetting.
Neurological problems:
Neurological imbalance that leads
to an Abnormality in the nervous
system, or injury or disease of the
nervous system that can upset the
delicate nerves that controls
urination.

conflict, sometimes causes children to wet
the bed. Major changes, such as starting
school, a new baby, or moving to a new home,
physical abusement and other stresses that
can also cause bedwetting.
