Carson George returned to Quoddy. Me., after spending a few days at his home here. He is in the National Youths Regional project and likes the work there very mudi.

Charles Scutt and family have moved from Mrs. Davis' house to the Ferd Clute place on Dry Brook street.

Rev. and Mrs. Jones returned home last week from bidiana \*^ere they attended the gradua-tion exercises at Taylor college. They are graduates of the college.

Miss Jean Murray, who has been attending the normal school at Fredonia, is spending her vacation at her home here.

Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Hansen and son, Francis, of New Jersey were weekend guests of friends in town.

Mr. and Mrs. Merwin George. Miss Sara Greene and Vincent Hayes went to Binghamtoo last week ITiursday when Mss Greene's sister, Mrs. Olive Vermilyea, was in the class of nurses i ^o nadu-ated in the Wilber Memorial hos-pital. George and Mr. returned home that evening, George and Miss Greene remained until Saturday.

A dieerio pal social followed the regular meeting of Arkville Re-bwah lodge. Some pals are still wondering fi^o presented them with the iM^tty gifts. Quarterly birthdays were celebrated for Jemiie Jones, Reta Thmnas, Jo-sephine Hombeck, FlOTence Wynn, Mary Odell, Nina Blakesley, Flor-ence Edcert Ollie Beadle, Mary Todd and Edith Van Wagenen. A beautiful birthday cake and a shower of cards were sent to the home of Josephine Hombedc, ^ o pros not able to attend. Refresh-ments were served.

? BIG INDIAN I

We were happily surprised the other day by a visit with Peggy Osteriioudt and Dorothea Herd-man, droK)ed in to say hello and ask for news of "the girls." Dorothea was up from Broc^yn and we learned some wonderiful news about her! But we forgot to ask if we could "tell," so we won't; but we're just bursting!

We have heard encouraging things about practically everybody who have been on the Big Indian sick list. Fred Andrews, suf-fered a sudden attack of phlebitis last week, is keeping almost as quiet as the doctor ordered him to, and so is progressing nicely. We understand that inflamation of a vein in the leg is the root of the trouble and extreme quiet the most necessary part of the cure. But these men!

There was a June birthday last week! Miss Jessie Rosa's fell on Thursday. June 5. Do let us know of any more!

Mr. and Mrs. Andrus Haynes and family are getting settled in their new quarters here in the vfflage.

Little Robin Hessinger started off Tuesday morning on a vaca-tion trip to St Albans, L. I. Of course, his mama and papa went with him, but they wiU be bade in a week, and he won't! Robin is to spend the summer with his paternal gr^dparents there, and won't we miss him here!
