CNS depressants all share an ability to reduce activity in the central nervous system and lower levels of awareness in the brain, there are important differences among substances within this drug class. Some are safer than others, while others have more potential for use for medicinal purposes.

produce rapid, intense emotional swings.

Hallucinogens cause their effects by disrupting the

interaction of nerve cells and the neurotransmitter

serotonin.

Psychosis-Psychosis is a serious mental health condition in which a person loses touch with reality. The extent to which the person is affected by psychosis varies greatly, with some people appearing to be quite normal, but experiencing some difficulties with their inward thoughts or perceptions, through to people barely being aware of their surroundings.
