What did romans wear? Romans wore clothes called togas. They were worn by men and women and had a colored sash such as blue or red they were a nine yards piece of cloth wrap around the body in a special way to keep it up. Men wore single band bracelets usually gold. Women typically wore necklaces earrings and bracelets pearls were there favorites. Depending on what class in society you are in, you get a certain color toga. The highest person in society, the emperor, wore a red toga and a gold leaf-pattern crown. The emperor gets to have clothing like this because he is the emperor, and he gets to have the best clothes. The next class is the senators. The senators wear elegant purple togas, but no gold leaf- pattern crown, because the emperor wore it to show importance the senators wore this

A tunic was a lighter piece of clothing than a toga and was worn in warmer month’s tunics and togas were made with and without sleeves and had designs like lines, flowers, or very detailed patterns. Women and men had similar clothing but a males toga was usually shorter about to middle of the calves and women’s typically came to ankles women usually had a bolder design around the bottom of their toga or tunic. Men and women wore clothes that are appropriate for their social class. Men and women dressed close but not alike. The men had bold togas and women had unique hair!
