Rev. Jean Luc PhanoRdThis night is dedicated to Rev. Jean Luc Phanord, the founder of the ministries to help the very poor in La Romana, Dominican Republic, who tragically perished in the Ameri-can Airlines crash in November 2001. For the thousands and thousands of Haitians living in the bateyes surrounding La Romana, Pastor Phanord’s vision continues to bring hope and relief from the blistering poverty they face. To the thou-sands of Americans who have had the privilege of volunteer-ing in La Romana and supporting these ministries over the last 21 years, he has provided an opportunity to serve the Lord by directly helping the poor and return home changed and better people.

Pastor Phanord left an amazing legacy with his wife Elza, children Johanne, Jessica, and Junior and their families. They continue his work of bringing aid to those with no hope or voice.

One of Pastor Phanord’s favorite sayings was “Praise the Lord!”, whether things were going well or not. It is our hope that this event tonight in Wallingford is a powerful way to praise and thank our Lord for His servent, Jean Luc Phanord.
