A week ater the res-
urrection o Jesus,
the greatest event in
all o human history,
the risen Lord ap-peared (the second time) to His disci-
ples and told Thomas to see His hands,
touch His side, and “stop doubting and
believe” (Jn. 20:27). Then, two verses
later, He said, “Because you have seen
me, you have believed” (v.29).
Jesus, our greatest model o evange-
lism, preached and taught using real lie
illustrations/parables that the people vi-sualized as well as heard (widow’s mite,
arming, fshing, tax collecting, money,
construction, nature, etc.). Research-
ers have ound that audio-visual com-
munication is one o the most eective
means o inormation, comprehension,
and retention. I’m sure the image o Je-
sus’ pierced hands and side became an
unorgettable memory or Thomas.
An excerpt rom an article by the U.S.
Department o Labor states that:
“Studies by educational researcherssuggest that approximately 83% ohuman learning occurs visually, andthe remaining 17% through the othersenses—11% through hearing, 3.5% through smell, 1% through taste, and
1.5% through touch.”
“The studies suggest that three days atan event, people retain 10% o what theheard rom an oral presentation, 35%rom a visual presentation, and 65% ro
a visual and oral presentation.”
I used to wonder how my children cou
watch a movie or TV program and a wee
later vividly remember scenes and quo
lines verbatim. Now, I know! THIS
WHY FILM MINISTRY IS SO EFFECTIVE
The “Jesus Film” has become one o th
most eective evangelistic tools o a
time. Translated into more than 1,16
languages, with more added regularl
people in more than 200 countries ca
hear the Word o God in their own healanguage and see it acted out on th
screen. Millions o people have, an
are, coming to Christ through the “Jesu
Film.” And it’s only one o many excelle
evangelistic flms that DIM uses aroun
the world. May the Lord encourage an
challenge you as you read this “FOCUS”

FOCUS The Ofcial Publication o Drive-In Ministries / to the Mobile Unit. Major maintenance is an annu
need there because
road conditions are
terrible and the team
is aggressive in con-
ducting more meet-ings than most o our
other partners. I don’t complain because we want t
Mobile Unit to wear out, not rust out.

January 4-13 I traveled to Bogota to make repairs on
the Mobile Unit projector screen and serve with the
evangelism team or a week
o ministry in Ambalema,
a village our hours rom
Bogota over hazardous
mountain roads. Ambalema
is a town where roads rom
several other villages inter-
sect. There is no evangelical
church in these areas. The team conducted VBS every
morning or 150-200 children and showed a movie ev-
ery night in the city park. Many trusted Christ, and a
church will be planted soon.
NIGERIA (West Arica Theological Seminary)
by Mike Jones Late in January I traveled to WATS in Lagos to install a
new screen, update equipment, and supervise repairs

Jones, son o Mike and Anna Mae
Jones. Stephen was with us last
summer or about two months.
Like the other three, he is seeking
God’s direction in his lie as well, and would appreciate prayer as the
Lord leads him.
There are others planning to come
this summer and already plans are under way or a group

Ministry Re-ReleaseGeneral Fund
In the last FOCUS, I announced the creation of two special donor “clubs” to help fund the
general fund for 2013. The “25/50 club” asks for 25 people to give $50 a month for 12
months. The “2013 club” asks for 20 churches, business owners, or individuals to give a
one-time gift of $1300 sometime during this year.
Several have already responded in each club, giving the general fund a boost (Thank YOU!), however others are
still very much needed. Your help is vitally important for operating the ministry through the summer and fall. Please
prayerfully consider helping Drive-In Ministries this year!

pick up sticks, rocks, etc. to help the looks and better a-
cilitate the mowing. It was a un and blessed aternoon.
Thanks Open Door riends!
Florida PropertyThe Florida property continues to attract interested pro-
spective buyers, but no sale yet. We continue to trust
the Lord or His
special plan.
