It was important for us when designing the brand and logo that we created something symbolic

Upon cataloguing my granddads memorabilia; I came across a document from the House of Heraldry. It seems she had some research carried out into what the Shankly family coat of arms may look like.

and some armour and the motto, ‘Pro Patria et Religione’.

We thought it would be a fantastic idea to use this description to create a crest to operate as the hotels brand; but crucially, also felt it would be a good idea to incorporate elements of the Scottish coat of arms to pay homage to his heritage. Both descriptions (the Shankly family crest and the Scottish crest) were given to our fantastic designers at Go Cre8 and the result is what you see today, a crest that merges both design

concepts and that emphatically symbolises Shankly and the hotel.
