The wines selected below are classics so you should recognise your

favourite grape varieties or regions of origin but what we have

endeavoured to do is find you the very best example of these well

loved wines.

The old classics are there but if you are feeling adventurous then we

have given you plenty of options. Chablis lovers may also enjoy

North West Spain’s famous Albarino. If you love your typical

Sauvignon Blanc why not try our new find from Cheverny -

Sauvignon with a touch of Chardonnay to add structure and

complexity. If you are a true Rhone Ranger then enjoy our new

Crozes Hermitage or see how the Rhone’s white grape, Viognier,

fairs in the hands of California’s Cline Vineyards – a stunning wine!

Sancerre AC £41.50 Andre Dezat, France A wonderful example of this Loire Valley wine. A pungent aroma of nettles and gooseberry, with wonderful intensity of apple and mineral flavours on the palate. Long, citrus finish. Great with seafood or goat’s cheese salads.

Albarino £34.50 Castro Martin, Rias Baixas, Spain From Galicia, this is Spain’s most fashionable white wine. Lively, unoaked with gorgeous notes of honeysuckle and lemon. Very smooth and well balanced. Great with seafood.

Cuvee des Forgets £48.50 Patrick Javillier, France A Burgundian classic! Expressive nose of white fruits and delicate toast with a creamy palate of apple, citrus and spice.

Cotes du Rhone AC £26.50 Domaine Coste Chaude, France

From a small domaine in the Southern Rhone valley, this dark, brooding wine offers layers of dense, ripe black fruit and finishes with lively, peppery spice. Great with beef.

Chianti DOCG £26.50 Badia di Morrona, Italy

Tuscany’s classic red wine from one of its most respected estates. Cherry aroma, medium bodied with fine acidity and distinctive dry tannins which make it a great accompaniment to a range of dishes, particularly risottos, rich pasta sauces and lamb.

Red Wine Bottle Bordeaux £29.50 Chateau de Camarsac, France Chic label and a very sleek red wine. Ripe blackcurrant and cedar aroma, well structured with supple tannins, long and elegant. Medium bodied. Excellent with lamb.

Les Breteches de Chateau Kefraya £28.50 (Cabernet/Syrah/Cinsault) Bekaa Valley, Lebanon Smoky, soft, delicate rosehip fruitiness and ripe cherry fruit. Easy drinking red fruits balance the structured tannins on the palate.

Fleurie AC £45.00 Beaujolais, France The best known village of the Beaujolais region. Alluring strawberry aroma. Light palate with silky texture and lovely purity of fruit. This is a great

example. Enjoy it with lighter dishes, charcuterie, pork or cheeses. Montepulciano d’Abruzzo £32.50 Farnese “Casale Vecchio”, Italy Bursting with intense spicy, ripe fruit and notes of liquorice on the nose. Full bodied yet silky, with a great structure from the well balanced oak. Enjoy it with roast or char grilled beef. Also excellent with aged cheeses.

Crozes Hermitage AC £39.50 Chapoutier, Les Meysonniers, France Syrah at its best. Powerful, complex wine with red fruits, raspberries and violets on the nose. Black pepper, blackberry and mixed spice follow on a rich, ample palate.
