Smoothie Factory sought to develop unique nutritional smoothies that would provide the greatest variety and proper balance of nutrients needed to support a healthy and active lifestyle.

With today’s diets lacking the nutritional benefits found in nature’s fresh fruits, and with most adults consuming fewer than the recommended five servings per day, Smoothie Factory sought whole fruits with their rich nutritional value as the primary ingredient.

Smoothie Facts

Smoothie is pronounced “Smooth-ee” and is a blended, sweet beverage made from real fruits. In addition, many smoothies include crushed ice, authentic yogurt, and nutritional boosts. They have a ‘smooth’ milkshake-like consistency which is thicker than a slush drink. Smoothies are well received by health-conscious people.

Adrian brings a wealth of experience in food service operations and leadership to Smoothie Factory. As the director of Operations, he successfully ensures compliance with system standards across the franchise community. Prior to the title of director of operations, Adrian managed Smoothie Factory stores, where he was instrumental in growing the brand in Southwest. Adrian has a degree from University of North Texas in Hospitality Management.

Vanessa keeps Smoothie Factory stores operating within the ‘System’. Her attention to detail and ability to grasp the big picture help her as she oversees the franchise communities’ compliance with standards. Vanessa has also actively operated a Smoothie Factory for 7-plus years and has been involved in the retail industry for more than 15 years.

As Regional and International Director of Franchise Development for Smoothie Factory, Joel champions franchise expansion by developing and executing a program to rapidly expand single unit operators to multi unit operators. His extensive background in development also includes experience with new business development, marketing, strategic planning, and site analysis. Joel holds a BBA degree in Accounting from University of Richmond.

Joshua joined Smoothie Factory in 2011. He has led the transformation of store information systems and guides the development and management of all internal business systems, computing infrastructure and store information-reporting systems, enabling sales and date management for the Smoothie Factory system. Josh has more than 12 years of operations and information technology experience. Josh holds a degree in Management Information Systems.

As a veteran in the construction field, Shan has over 16 years of experience in restaurant development. He ensures that Smoothie Factory stores are built-out exactly to Smoothie Factory specifications. In addition, he acts as a liaison between Corporate and various architects when implementing improvements in store layout and design.

Damon’s job is to ensure the selection of the finest raw ingredients for our smoothies. In addition, he manages and implements the private label line and packaging for Smoothie Factory products. His focus is on attention and quality, leveraging experience in multiple fields to ensure the greatest level of confidence, safety, and value with our chosen products. Damon has serviced the health & wellness industry from both sides of the counter now. Prior to working with Smoothie Factory, Damon owned and managed a nutrition store in San Antonio, Texas. In addition, he’s worked for several manufacturers including EAS, Optimum Nutrition, and Twinlab.

EXECUTIVE TEAMJAMES VILLASNAFounder and PresidentJames has worked in the hospitality industry and with nutritional products for 18 years and brings that valuable knowledge and insight to Smoothie Factory. In 1992, he was a member of the United States Olympic Team in the Games of the XXV Olympiad held in Barcelona, Spain. In 1996, he brought that same dedica-tion and perseverance to Smoothie Factory – one of America’s fastest growing smoothie companies. James has a love and appreciation for franchise owners and has served as a director of the Smoothie Factory Board in Dallas. James is a graduate of the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston.

As Office Manager, Olena organizes and coordinates office operations and procedures in order to ensure our organization’s effectiveness and efficiency. She supervises office staff, implements corporate policies, organizes office operations, prepares time sheets, review and approves supply requisitions, maintains office equipment, and so much more. In addition, Vanessa maintains office records and performs input accounting procedures related to our franchise community.

Dana does a fantastic job of providing all support materials for Smoothie Factory stores. Dana’s job is to source promotional and support materials at the best price without sacrificing quality. Once the item is produced, Dana manages the inventory and re-ordering process so our stores always have what they need, when they need it. From the first idea, to sourcing, pricing, production, and warehousing, Dana does it all.

As the VERY FIRST Smoothie Factory franchise owner, Denise has been working with Smoothie Factory since 1997. Today, Denise manages the distribution of nutritional products to our stores. Denise has over 13 years experience in the sports nutrition industry and brings that valuable knowledge and insight to Smoothie Factory.

GARY manages the procurement and distribution of goods and materials needed for Smoothie Factory stores. As Supply Chain Specialist, Mike’s job is to create item specific forecasts over a rolling horizon to be used for ordering and inventory management. In addition, he manages processes among Smoothie Factory operations, purchasing, logistics, and outside suppliers in order to execute the ongoing replenishment process for our franchise community.

DIRECT STORE INCOME. Each time you open a corporate Smoothie Factory Store, you earn the net income generated.

FRANCHISE FEE INCOME. Each time you sub-franchise a Smoothie Factory Store, you earn the franchise fee. The franchise fee is set by the Master Franchisee.

MONTHLY ROYALTY INCOME. Each time you establish a sub-franchise store in your country, you earn ongoing monthly royalties.

AREA DIRECTOR INCOME. Your organiza-tion can offer qualified developers the opportunity to expand the Smoothie Factory brand as an Area Director in markets that you designate. An Area Director is required to pay an area development fee based on the population of the selected geographical territory.

In addition, your organization will earn a portion of the franchise fee and ongoing royalty income.
