Shippensburg UniversityHomecoming 2010
Christmas for Causes Holiday Craft Show
with DREW!Drew Michael Taylor Foundation
Earlythisyear,MarcieTaylorhadanideatoholdaholidaycraftshowtobenefittheDrewMichaelTaylor Foundation as well as many other community organizations. Her idea came to life at the Christmas for Causes Holiday Craft Show, held at Corner Coffee in Shippensburg on Monday, November 22, 2010. The foundation sold items like hats and scarves for American Girl dolls, wine charms and jewelry made by Marcieandhermom.Profitsfromtheeventraisedapproximately$166fortheDrewMichaelTaylorFoundation,andover$900wasraisedbythesevencharitiesinattendance.
InOctober,theDrewMichaelTaylorFoundation was chosen to be the homecoming charity for Shippensburg University’s Homecoming 2010. Events were held during the week of October 18-23 and donation buckets as well as cover chargestotheeventsallwenttobenefittheDrewMichaelTaylorFoundation.Asidefromalltheprofitsfromtheevents,thekingand queen candidates this year wererequired to fundraise for the foundation as
a percentage of their winning score. Between fundraising by the king and queen candidates, donation jars andeventfees,theDrewMichaelTaylorFoundationreceivedacheckforapproximately$4,000fromtheShippensburg University Homecoming committee chairpersons. The check was presented to Randy and MarcieTaylorattheDashforDrewinNovember.

Fifth Annual Dash for Drew
Philly Rock N’ Roll 1/2 Marathon
Onceagain,theDashforDrewwasasmashingsuccessfortheDrewMichaelTaylorFoundation!Nowinitsfifthyear,theDashwasheldonasunnySaturdayonNovember13,2010atGreencastle-Antrim High School with 525 participants taking part intherace. Forthesecondyearinarow,JustinDoschfinishedfirst,cominginwithatimeof10:02.AmyStahlmanalsorepeatedas the Masters’ women’s champion. Entryfeesandt-shirtsalesledtoa$6,000profitforthefoundation, and community support in the form of food and drink donations helped the event to be a huge success. Thank you to all whoparticipatedandhelpedinmakingthiseventrunsmoothly!
ThefallsessionofReady,Set,Go!was held on November 2 at James Burd Elementary School. After a dinner of baked ziti and salad,
children participated in educational activities while
parents attended workshops on early learning.
ThefallsessionofDrew’sHopeheld its remembrance ceremony onMonday,December13,2010.Thisyear(fall),theDrewMichaelTaylor Foundation and professors
and students from the Shippensburg University
CounselingDepartmenthelped11families deal with their loss of a
loved one.
BothRandyandMarcieTaylorranracesthisfallasDrew’sCrewmemberstoraisefundsfortheDMTF.OnSept.19,2010,Marcieraised$900runningthePhillyRock-n-Roll½marathon(herfirsthalfsince2005).OnOct.31,RandyrantheMarineCorpsMarathonforthethirdtime,alongwithlocalDrew’sCrewmembersMarkWardandToddKirkwood.JoiningintheMCMDrew’sCrewexperiencethisyearwasDaveMazza,aHoraceMannIns.Co.colleaguefromwesternPA.Randyraised$5,000andseveralmorethousanddollarswereaddedbyDave,ToddandMark.IfyouwouldlikemoreinformationaboutsupportingtheDMTFthroughDrew’sCrew, see the foundation website at www.drewmichaeltaylor.org for more information.
