Bill gates• Bill gates was born into a successful family;

his mom was a teacher at a collage and his dad was an attorney. Bill gates started programing computers when he was 13 years old. While both Bill Gates and Paul Allen were still young teenagers they made computer called Traf-O-Data and sold it to the city of Seattle. It was able to count the amount of traffic around the city.

Bill gates continued• It was able to count the amount of traffic

around the city. When he got older he was accepted to Harvard university where he met Steve Ballmer. Still an under graduate he wrote a version of programming language Basic for the Mit’s Altair micro computer. Before Bill graduated from Harvard he dropped out to start his career as a software designer.

Bill Gates continued again• He started to write programs for the early

apple company and commodore machines.Bill gates was given an opportunity when IBM asked for help with their personal computer project( project chess) Bill gates than developed the Microsoft disk operating system Between 1978-1984 Bill only took two weeks of vacation due to his drive to become successful. In 1997 he was given the title of the richest man in America.

Steve Jobs • Steve jobs was given up for adoption when

he was really young. Steve and his dad would work on electronics when he was a boy. Steve later enrolled in homestead high school where he met Steve Wasniak who later became his partner. After high school Steve enrolled at Reed Collage in Portland Oregon..

Steve Jobs continued• He dropped out of collage six months after

enrolling. He got a job as a video game designer for Atari. When Steve was 21 he and Steve Wasniak started apple computers. In 1984 Apple introduced the Macintosh A year later he resigned from Apple and took some of his co-workers with him to make the Next computers company.

Steve Jobs Again

• A few years later Next introduced its first computer but It was aimed for the educational market. Two years later in 1986 he purchased a small animation company called Pixar from George Lucas. In 1996 apple purchased Next and was again CEO of Apple. Steve Jobs made the first GUI interface for computers which was adopted by many companies. Apple later made ipods, computers, and now Ipod touches, and Ipads.

Thesis statement • I think that both Steve Jobs and Bill Gates

contributed an equal amount of technology and advancement that I consider them equals. Steve Jobs made the company apple which developed Ipods, Iphones, Ipads, and computers as well as the GUI interface. Bill Gates made a very advanced OS windows7 and made the company windows who developed Xbox. If you compare them they both contributed different things but the same amount of things which all had and equal impact on society.
