ANALYSIS & CONCLUSIONS 97% of the 94 respondents from five (5) flood-prone barangays believe that dredging Bayawan River is important

63 % believe that Flooding and Erosion could be reduced

Other reasons are for improved navigation and better fish catch along the river

However, 47% believe that dredging will harm the environment 94% will allow dredging if he/she owns the land where dredging is to be conducted

this initial survey was done prior to a presentation of the Pre-Feasibility Study to the LGU and consultation with the community

RECOMMENDATION upon completion of the Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) and presentation to the LGU, public consultations and information dissemination must be made to the flood-prone barangays

to dredge or not if yes, where and what methods could be used to minimize adverse environmental impacts if not, what could be done to mitigate flooding & erosion?
