Dream house in Cornwall Cosy
The house was built in the 18th century
but it has now been updated with every
modern luxury. There’s a greenhouse,
the Sunroom (see photo above), that has
been designed to fit the style perfectly.
It’s light but cosy, with doors that open
out onto the garden. In the summer
you can smell the sea outside and
the delicious scent of the English rose
gardens. In the winter you can curl up
by the open hearth and The Fable is a
wonderfully cosy place to escape the
pressures of everyday life.
Cornwall
At the end of a little country
lane near the village of St Agnes
in Cornwall, in the southwest of
England, is this romantic, white
dream house with a thatched roof:
The Fable.
You can sink into the soft cushions for a nice chat by this atmospheric
open fire.
Close to The
Fable, in
the Cornish
countryside, there is a
dairy owned by the Parker
family. Here they make the
most delicious ice cream
you have ever tried, from
healthy milk, the best
cream and fresh fruit.
Enjoy hours spent at the big farmhouse table
eating homemade dishes using
local products.

From the farmerThe house is completely self-catered. That’s no
problem though. The kitchen has a vintage look
but is fitted with everything you might need.
There are some farm shops close to The
Fable where you can buy food
straight from the farmer. The
seaside village of St Agnes is nearby
too, for the daily groceries. There are
cafes, restaurants, craft shops and
galleries as well as a beach and the
sea, of course.
Can you see how spacious The Fable is? You don’t realise from the outside.
There used to be a
lot of tin and copper
mines in Cornwall.
This history is still
visible in many
places. High up on
a cliff at St Agnes
Head is an old machine
room for one of these
mines. It’s interesting
to look at.
Plenty of attention has been paid to the decoration of
the bathroom too. There’s lots of worn wood and a
blackboard wall.St Agnes has a few traditional
tearooms where you can really treat yourself.
This comfy reading corner is in the master bedroom. So don’t forget to pack a good book.
Always wanted to try surfing? There is a surf school not far away, where they give lessons
at all levels.
Let it rainOn the left you can see the large bedroom. So
spending a rainy day in bed isn’t so bad! The
other bedroom is large too and has a huge bed.
This bed is made up of two singles that you can
push apart. Both bedrooms have been decorated
with care, featuring lots of vintage accessories
so you will feel right at home. In the large family
bathroom there’s a vintage bath with claw feet.
It’s great to see how much modern luxury has
been created with old materials throughout
the house.
