The Legend of the Dream Catcher

According to Native American Legend, it is believed that dreams, both good and bad, float through the air during the night searching for their destination. While sleeping under a dream catcher placed by the person’s head, bad dreams get caught in the web to perish with the light of day. The good dreams easily slip through the center hole, working their way down the web, catching all the good energies of the beads and adornments as they float down the feathers and into the dreamer’s head. One never fears bad dreams again while sleeping under a dream catcher.

7” RingI designed this Dream Catcher as a sample for my Dream Catcher Classes. I call it “Calico-Cat” because of the mixture of feathers, bead patterns, and cat charm.

This Dream Catcher is made of 3-colors of dyed leather lace: purple, white, & brown; waxed thread, 4-color pony beads: black, white, med-brown, & silver; dyed purple & white feathers, & various natural feathers.

Charm: simulated diamond studded cat head

It is not for sale, but if you sign up for one of my Dream Catcher Workshops I can provide you with the material to create your own uniquely designed Dream Catcher.

This Beaded Dream Catcher is made of dyed purple leather lace, hand strung & pre-strung plastic and glass beads in various hues of purple.

Charms: 4 pewter low relief celestial motifs.

As a gift to my lovely daughter, who dislikes feathers (too fluffy), I designed a Dream Catcher made of beads in her favorite colors.

This original one-of-a-kind “museum piece” shall not be duplicated. Nor will the artist design any other intricately beaded works of art at this time.
